f-cking oath. Or was it a legit scanner glitch? which is never the case in movies. I wonder what that was all about

very good question. the Engineer was alive in stasis on the other side of the door, so maybe it was reading that as a life sign? that's what was implied...but there's always the sneaking suspicion that it could've been something else hiding in the shadows. perhaps what the Engineers in the holograms were running away from?

at first I was like "Xenomorph", because it's like typical xenomorph stuff two dudes stuck in a dark cavern with an unknown lifeform. Turns out it was a glitch lol or a engineer through a wall..

Well, a glitch would hardly be that regular. Janek said it's for a few seconds every couple of hours. And did you notice that twice in the movie, when nobody is touching any controls, the light comes on briefly in the space jockey's stasis pod? Perhaps there's a short power surge every few hours when the life signs become readable?

@Hadley's Hope: maybe so. but when David is first in the room with the living Engineer in stasis, he hears his heartbeat, at a slow but regular rate. if the stasis pod allowed something as soft as a near-comatose heartbeat able to be detected through it, wouldn't the 'pup' register that as constant, or not at all? maybe there's some cyclic small jump in power that amplifies life signs in whatever way the pup reads them, but it's hard to say for sure.
i still think the life signs may have been of something else we've not yet seen.

"Not yet seen", see I like that, thats what I felt when watchin the flick. Get folks talking like this. I bet thats exactly what RS wants. It sure makes a Prometheus 2 quite interesting
