Obviously Prometheus poses this question.

It is not hard to believe but prometheus cleared me on one point that. Creators who have empathy are going to be defensive when we show up. That is what movie is about. I mean imagine the reason your parents like some XYZ place may not be the same reason you like or dislike the place. So if bunch of engineers created life, later their next generations can destroy the same for some another reason. So this perfectly makes sense to me. Creators loving their pets or creations as per religious theories, sounds too hard to believe for me. Prometheus on the other hand made it easy to believe in reality like that.

If Prometheus tells us anything it is that we did not evolve to serve a higher purpose. Our only goal in the creator's eyes is to die squirming under the boot heels of the Engineers.

All evolved creatures must consume for energy to evolve, therefore most intelligent organisms must have become predators on some level. Why create intelligence? That was David's question. Without biology does science have a purpose..?
