So after seeing the movie and trying to figure out exactly how the Derlict ship ends up on LV-426 I've come up with this theory. Now this would upset alot of the fans if the next film goes this direction because it would ignore some critical info in Alien. My theory is that Shaw is still pregnant with an alien organisim. After she suits up to go into the ship with Weyland there are a few times where she breaks down in pain. Now at 1st I just dismissed it as her still being in pain from her c-section. But the more I thought about it, it seemed like she was having chest pains. Then she leaves the planet in the SJ ship. We saw that the suit would automatically enclose the pilot prior to take off. So I think that the SJ we see in Alien is Shaw. Of course this theory would ignore the carbon dating in Alien completley.

ITS NOT A DIRECT PREQUEL TO ALIEN IT IS JUST THE SAME UNIVERSE. THE CRASH ON LV-426 HAPPENED 2000 YEARS PRIOR TO PROMETHEUS.

I know that. Its a prequel to a prequel. Also thats why I said that maybe in the 2nd film it could be a explanation.

I have a different idea as to why the Derelict ended up on LV-426. See my post "fixing the plot holes" and see what you think.

Ridley Scott said there would need to be 7 movies before he got to an actual prequel for Alien. Shaw's problem was the C-section. I think that LV-223 was an initial weapons plant before being overrun, containing an early, initial bioweapon that had the seeds for creating our beloved xenomorph.

Well, that would be a direct connection if true but it really doesn't need to connect like that in order to maintain some sort of continuity.

Woman after c-section will recover at least a month. So the pain was definately because of the operation. But it is interesting how she was able to run like a deer infront of the ship.

Yeah, she jumped out of the ship after the Engineer showed up and dropped twenty feet, then repelled out of the Engineers ship with David, pretty amazing for being half ripped open...

There is no point trying to reconcile issues with Alien using this movie. It isn't even attempting to answer those questions. You would be better off forgetting Alien ever happened. This series isn't going there.

Yeah, I agree, there's little point in making anything but real generic associations with the first movie at this point. Recombinant DNA smothered in Engineer sauce and you're most of the way there anyways, just different.
