MemberOvomorphJun-09-2012 4:25 PMOK a lot of you want to see it, or already have and so i am going to get to the bottom line, Prometheus is a really good film. great film like some people are saying? no. terrible like some other people are saying? no. did it deserve 4 stars from Roger Ebert? no not really. solid B- i would say, are you on here and wondering if you should see it or not because of all the bad review? of course you should, you freaking joined this site, if you cared about it that much to join here then you should see it regardless. does the fact that the space jockeys are really just people take away the mystery of the first movie? no not at all, the movies are different styles and so when i see that scene from the first movie, i am not thinking "there is some guy in that suit." i am thinking "wow look at that weird alien thing." the film does have a bundle of little problems, but no big ones. over all the biggest problem with Prometheus is that it just made me want to watch alien again, but then again what doesn't make me want to watch that again :D

MemberOvomorphJun-09-2012 4:32 PMalso i felt that the movie was rushing at times, going from scene to scene really fast, should have been longer so it could have been a slower build up like in alien. and also, i am a little hesitant to call this alien cannon, not that it was a bad film, but i don't really want to think of them as connected, even though they had obvious parallels. also a lot of people have been complaining about the music, and not that it is BAD but it doesn't fit in.... from what i could tell (i never saw the track listing) the main theme is like an adventureish discovery theme, and it fits with some of the themes but not the mood of the movie i guess.

Ripley Clone 8
MemberOvomorphJun-09-2012 4:44 PMI really liked it. I would say it was just as good as the previous 4 Alien films. :D

MemberOvomorphJun-09-2012 4:56 PMalso where the hell was H.R. gigers role in the production? i saw NOTHING that looked like he helped with it.

aintnozeno
MemberOvomorphJun-09-2012 9:08 PMGiger only did a few of the background shots per RS. He was not involved in the creature designs.
