engineer from alien

how is the engineer in alien killed off at end of prometheus, back in the chair in the ship and found in alien? was this a different engineer that awoke or is it one that visited the planet after the ship was destroyed and it was taken out by the aliens also?

Prometheus is set on a different planet and the Engineer in the film is completely different from the one in Alien.

just after i typed this i saw the lv423 references and i had completely took out of consideration that this was a different planet all together. thanks very much for clarifying. loved the movie and this makes it even better

Different planetoid. Ripley's team landed on LV-426. Shaw's team were on LV-223, a moon orbiting 426 both in the Zeta II Reculi system. Hence, different engineer.
