Engineers Worshiped the Xenomorph?

Yes, the Engineers are masterminds when it comes to genetic engineering and creation. But could they have simply been trying to mimic that of the original Xenomorph in the Temples on LV_223?
Could that facility have been a testing ground to create an obedient ALIEN which is created of the same genetic material that the original Xeno was? It would certainly make sense in that case - why the black goo / bio-former turned everything into a Xenomorph-like creature.
The original Xenomorph was regarded as structurally perfect. The perfect organism. Not clouded by delusions of morality. A survivor.
Could the Engineers have discovered this species long ago and worshiped it or regarded it as being a higher being compared to them? It's certainly possible!
When Holloway is in the Ampule Room and finds the Mural of the Alien and looks at that chamber like object he says "Just another sarcophagus". Could that held the Xenomorph test subject that the Engineers were dissecting in hopes to learn from it and create a species like it for their own purposes?
There's no doubt that they were trying to create either weapons or some form of higher species with the Alien DNA, but did the Engineers originate the Alien's DNA? I'm thinking not.
I bet they modeled their biosuits after the Alien's structurally perfect build and they were trying to harness its genetic makeup to either create a clone which could be controlled, or various prototypes of similar species which the Engineers could use at their disposal.
What do you all think? Is this theory too far out? Or is it plausible?
