Language David was studying

I found a couple of possibilities:
From what I remember of the notation on the screen, it led me to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proto-Indo-Iranian_language
Which, if some other posters are correct and this movie is based on Sumerian mythology, then that seems like a good fit.
However, the languages listed in the sidebar include Swahili, which is not in the Indo-European subgroup, which suggests that the language David is studying is an even earlier root, which led me to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proto-Human_language
IF either of these are correct, then it's possible that we can find out what David said to the Titan. I believe that he understood and was understandable to the Titan, because otherwise he would be unable to decipher the door functions so quickly.
David is capable of duplicity, so there's a good chance he didn't say what he should have.
What do you think?
