Things left out and questions.

As a moviegoer this movie was very interesting, epic and philosophical. But as a hardcore alien fan I was disappointed with the use of 'intelligent design' theory (ancient alien genetic tampering) and the relationship between the engineers and humans. What made ALIEN truly amazing to me, was the dark unknown and sometimes perverted nature of whats out there. Something purely alien to us in every way, thus having no contact with us, and being beyond our imagination. As a HC alien fan, I wanted a different approach. However still thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the Fifield smoking scene, and C-sections scene were keepers. That being said I was wondering about why the fifield mutant was left underdeveloped and was the creature at 2:38 here ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1byZkbNB3Jw ) just an engineer or something left out? This movie needed to be longer! I wanted to see more from the French Prometheus magazine reach the movie!
