Ranking of Prometheus in the Alien Movie Universe

i would rank it as follows 1. Alien 2. Aliens 3. Prometheus 4. Alien 3 Avp, Avpr and ressurection is not good enough to be on that list(in my opinion ofcorse). But again, it took me a looooooong time to even accept aliens. i have never enjoyed those kind of films in my entire life. Grunts running around saying things like "we got to get out of here" and so on. BUT it has some stunning sets and the monsters look relly great and now i can enjoy it..plus, its a good "follow up story" to the first film. I actually dont like the idea with the queen either, but thats another story.

1) Alien 2) Aliens 3) Prometheus 4) Alien 3 5) Alien Resurrection If I were in a mood for some immersive atmosphere and wanting to watch 2 movies, it would be Prometheus and Alien. Aliens is too loud sometimes.

Prometheus is number 1....that is Ridleys statement in his depictions of creation...now, whether you accept all the films after the original Alien is a matter for the individual....I don't. So for me its Prometheus then Alien.

All the films from Aliens on back are no doubt great fun with good performances and moments of nice atmospherics...but they are not Ridley Scott's work and that is my focus and interest.

Here is mine.... ALIENS: 1 (Perfect, nice Queen Design, superb Ripley, love Bishop) ALIEN: 2 (nice crew, huge suspense factor, perfect storytelling) ALIEN RESURRECTION: 3 (nice design, crew sucks, swimming aliens..) PROMETHEUS: 4 (as it is to me just the "half" story...maybe later gets better) ALIEN3: 4 (to serious screenplay, to depressive atmosphere, but nice design) AvP: 5 (not a bad story at all, nice idea..) AvP2: - was not able to watch it as it was to dumb -

...where there is an Alien(s) there is hope... even bad Cinema is good...

Alien Aliens Prometheus Alien 3 Alien Resurrection (haven't seen it in a while but i liked it enough, in all of it's odd quirkiness) can't rank the others because they don't even belong as movies. although, i admit i didn't see the one with Brody - i heard that was actually respectable. now let's talk favorite scenes... Alien - the dinner scene, for sure. also, the talking Android head scene and the end when she climbs in the suit to eject the xenomorph. very slow and tense. Aliens - the battle with the queen at the end with the power loader. that's probably one of the coolest and most badass scenes in film history. "get away from her, you bitch!"...classic. Alien 3 - Ripley's sacrifice. Prometheus - the snake thing breaking that guy's arm and going into his throat. the self-administered c-section. the crash sequence of the engineer ship. first two were wonderfully tense. the crash sequence was just sheer beauty on film, especially with that awesome planet surface they had for the film.
