What if men created engineers?

The Temple head is an enigma, because our space crew was just running round touching and activating every damn bio-weapon in the facility we may never know... at least until the novelization comes out. I think that worship is a clumsy way of exalting their creations (remember the Alien mural)? Lots of questions, and we can makeup anything we want at this point.

A intersting line in the movie is when Milburn says something like "Have you thought this could be some kind of god, someone they worshopped?", talking about the head. Since they are also humanoid, the head may be a homage to themselves, not humankind...or maybe another human-like species that created them. But, I think that head is a homage to the sacrificial engineer, that sacrificed himself in order to create a new race.

WHA? HUH? Created?! Why? I always figured the Engineers were conceived by nature, and created Humans. Why would they imply, and come up with that question; that the Engineers were also created? Come on... they're the Engineers! THEY create. No one else does. Except for nature, of course... If the Engineers end up being creations, that's gonna be a HUGE downer.

Well at least I use punctuation at the end of my sentences. : D

@Prenihility I think the whole Engineers being creations by other humanoids thing is pretty logical. We didn't really see the engineers creating life, just seeding life using a seed of life. It wasn't like we saw them constructing life forms or being involved in some sort of intelligent design. And if the sacrificial engineer seeded life on earth when there was no life on earth it would point to life not being able to be created without some sort of seed. ie: if the engineers were merely trying to seed humanoids like them, it would make sense if basic non-human forms of life already existed on earth. But being as there didn't appear to be any, it would seem that in this universe life does not spontaneously create itself if the conditions support it. Which would point to the engineers being seeded or created by someone else. Unless the Engineers were created from nature and we weren't, which doesn't seem logical as the conditions existed for life on earth just as whatever planet the engineers originally came from.

Revelation 12:13 And when the Dragon found he was cast to the earth he pursued the woman who gave birth to the man child... Revelation 12:17  Then the Dragon became furious with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed.... Look closely at the Xeno mural in the temple. Notice the wings.   In Alien 3 the Xeno is referred to as the Dragon. Could this be the answer to Shaws question "why do you hate us, why do you want to kill us?" Are the  original Xenos fallen Angels still jealous and furious at their Creators beloved creation man. Is this why they were sending a deadly cargo to earth 2000 years ago?Are the engineers worshipers of the beast,doing the will of their God?

That makes no sense that the Engineers were created by humans, when theyre the ones in all the pictures, pointing to a destination in space for the humans to go, that the scientists even say wouldnt have been possible for early human societies to be able to see until they had modern telescopes. Its supposed to challenge the perception of where we come from.

I really like the idea that humans 'created' the engineers (or, that the engineers are in some sense future humans). Why do the engineers (that we see in the movie) carry such a large proportion of muscular tissue? [quote]Why do Engineers have a giant Humanoid head in their ship? What sense does it make to worship your own race?[/quote] A monument or idol dosnt have to be worshipped in order for it to serve its purpose. Incidentally, there is at least one other shot in the movie where I felt a purposeful similiarity was being drawn between the engineers structures/statues, and the Egyption pyramids and Sphinx.

my idea is that HUMANS BECOME ENGINEERS, once they've combatted the horrible Corporate Weaponry brought back from LV-426. Once they've 'claimed back their Free Planet' from the Conglomerate Maniacs who've spread out across the universe like a VIRUS. I think the Opening Sequence takes place on FUTURE HUMAN COLONIES where Weyland/Yutani's brought-death has cleared the terraformed world of life. :)
