Yes, I do love this part: surely she's now going to have to use one of those Engineers chambers and think of a place to shove all those tubes.

Just another example of how poorly written this movie is. Way too many holes. She could probaly drink the black goo and hope for the best, there's any number of possibilities that could happen when exposed to it. Death, Zombie, squid baby, mutation, so yeah for this movie and it just being food is a good possibility too.

Dr Shaw doesn't need anything to survive because she's riddled with Alien DNA. That's why she could perform all those feats impossible for a human being to achieve. She had no problem with the caesarian (not abortion as she was only concerned about getting rid of the squid), no crippling pain, no worry about nudity, no problem running, leaping, fighting an Engineer or releasing her new born on it. Why did the Engineer start killing people only after Shaw had been struck? Because he recognised in her the essence of what the Engineers had been trying for 2000 years to achieve: a controllable "Alien"; a human female with their Alien DNA, the embodiment of development courtesy of two millenia of hard and fatal work. And she says she wants to knock on the Engineers' front door to ask them why they want to destroy mankind. Who would visit their would-be killers to ask them anything at all?

To me this is an interesrting subject and should be swept out of our minds. Shaw was the first to sense there was a problem in the Big Head Room. She was the one who checked on Holloway after he tripped and wanted to get him some help and leave the dome. Shaw also was the first to check DNA of the Engineer and saw how we were related to this just out of reach race. Shaw was the first to say we need to leave the moopn and head for home. My point is that she seemed to be the most sensitive of all the crew members to the evil.of the moon. In the end she not escape this evil anf resolved to face the dark secrets and no matter waht find answers to her questions. Now I lifted the first line from a post that has some interesting aspects. Just when was she infected? She didn't even know david when she came out of Stasis. Could she be the long range 'goo' test subject being infected before the mission even began. David was programmed to observe Shaw, the test subject. The second 'goo' dose through Holloway wass just another step in the on gong testing administrated by and because of David. Fifield had already demonstrated how falling into the goo changed his appearence. strength and agressiveness. In Shaw we have only seen to some extent the strengh/endurance signs of goo. When will Shaw start to show the other systoms of alien/xeno charactoristics. Thanks xenodochy if you are still around for this suggestion about Alien DNA infection. It has not gone away. Somehow Shaw must deal with this infection issue. Is she willing to sacrifice herself when the alien infection is apparent to her?
