Seed Engineer

I was wondering if the first engineer seen the film, the one who seeds the Earth, was actually a rogue of his species or part of a separate faction... either doing something that he never had permission to do OR this faction's desire to create life contradicts the other faction (LV223)'s desire to create weapons of destruction. These warring Engineers could be the ones who were "cast out of Heaven", if you will.
