they use that lifeform (old pure xenolike something) dan to make their body get those strong suitlike covering.
just thinking, i'm not saying i have to be right

The insectoid look of the limbs suggest to me that the mural is the Deacon creature from the end (which, IMHO, is the 'pure' Alien 'xenomorph' before asny tinkering).

My thoughts also and it seems that the Engineers were honoring this life form? Not sure. Seems like a memorial to the deacon, as ive seen it called..yet it is definetely deadly to them, probably anything

Depends what angle you look at it. From straight on it looks classic cylindrical head Xeno.
From below and to the side, it would look tapered to a point, which it does not look to be from straight on (I looked for this specifically when viewing the 2nd time)
And all those extra waves and lines are DELIBERATELY misleading, they could be the background, or part of Queen head. Again Ripley Scott puts out uncertainty for us to argue over.
Not everything put on a wall is for worship in the way many people see 'love they neighbour' Jesus. Sometimes it's a reminder of the power that something has over you, that keeps you in line.
The other mural seems to depict a Space Jockey being turned into a Xenomorph. So, if the Space jockeys rebelled against their makers, they got black oozed,, and the resulting Xenomorphs will hunt down the others.
Rebellion crushed... send Igor for more humans to make more Space Jockeys.
A theory.

Or the other way round. The Xeno's tough body is because it has incorporated the exo suit?
It would make sense for the suits to be very resistant to all types of things, esp when working in a lab with space cobras, with sharp teeth, acid blood etc.
Do you think that's why they were wearing what some people thought were flight suits?

To me it looks like these concepts of the Deacon...

If these was first drafts of the Deacon chances are Giger started or maybe finished that Mural before they changed the Deacon to the one we see in the Movie.
This does not mean its the Deacon, it could mean that this is some Alien life form that the Xeno was engineered from and also thus the Deacon also shares same DNA.
I think that the Xenos where maybe created from some other Organism by the Engineers who then realized how hard it was to contain the Xenos and thus shipped the Cargo off and decided instead to use the same procedure that resulted in the Sacrifice Engineers DNA to be dissolved, to then dissolve the Alien DNA so it can be contained more securely in the Urns and also allows it to create many kinds of life forms based on Alien DNA.

I have a thread on this, it is not an image of the old Xeno, it's the Deacon. Also shown on the mural is the whole lifecycle, even a facehugger. I will link both for people to read.
