The Prometheus story line

I just saw this movie today as a Father's day gift ... and starcraft just kept creeping into my mind while i watched..... The reason i am posting this, is that i hope, that in Prometheus 2, the engineers will not exlpain the reason they want to destroy the Human race, is because we became a disapointment to them. Or given an explaination that the black goo makes docile creatures into killing machines. Or that the aliens are lead by some overmind. Or that there is yet another alien race to enter the story ala Psionic weapons. Or even forbid there be ancient crystals involved. It would not kill anyone to be just a weeeee bit orignal.

That some Elder's face doesn't open on a gas-powered hinge, revealing a tiny mouse with twitching whiskers and the ability to whistle The Star Spangled Banner. That's my real hope for P2.

3rd race to enter the story i think is most likely. It looks like the back story to alien such as the space jockey etc is influenced by the story " at the mountains of madness" it turns out human beings were made by advanced ET beings as a big joke. our attributes such as free will given to us for their amusement. so the naswer to big questions like "why are we here?" & "whats the meaning of life" is a kick in the balls we are actually an insignificant cosmic joke

A very bad plot, would be, if the creators are then turned on by their own creations... not intellectually impressive i'd say....

It doesn't need explaining. The engineers turn on us after seeing David. They realise that we are starting to create life and we're there to steal their secrets. Its the part of the film that ties most closely into the original myth.
