The engineers created life on earth to test their biological weapon, the xenomorph, which is obvious that the project wasnt fully completed due to an out break that turned on them. 2,ooo years before the out break they decided the project was ready for a test run, out break happen, the test wasnt carried out. The goo that David found was goo that belong to a xenomorph and due to the fact that the incident happen 2000 years before they got there, on an isolated lifeless planet, it would be hard for any xenomorph to remain alive for so long. But the goo, thanks to the terra forming was preserve with out any issue. ------SO there you have it, the truth about Prometheus, after viewing the movie 5-6 times, the movie makes sense to this and it even supports this theory. SO lv 223 is Area 51, and planet earth and its living organisms is where we would test our toys that we build at area 51.

I don't think they created life/mankind for the sole purpose of being labrats, I think the answer is far more profound, but that's my personal opinion. If they wanted to test their weapon on us, then why not do so before we were advanced enough to actually leave Earth? I think they kept returning to our early civilizations to help guide our evolution, but we showed them that we're ungrateful/hateful creatures, and it appears that eventually they gave up on us and now just want to destroy us and start over sim city style! Maybe they created us to be their allies but we didn't work out in that way...

I think we can ponder the reasons but the answer would hopefully come out in the sequel when or if Shaw meets our makers.

because, 2093-2000, puts you at what 93 ad? perfect era of human evolution to test a bio weapon. Why release a weapon if its going to kill everything so easily? If I have a biological weapon I want to see how it phases against a point in a humans life when they can fight back, why? to see weaknesses that need to be fix, or what else they have to do. Think about it. Its their DNA they know how we are going to turn out given enough time, which is why he wanted to hurry the hell up and head to earth to wipe it out, we are a test subject that where not meant to evolve out of that planet, and also we don't know how long they actually where working on the Xenomorph project before they created life on earth, maybe it did took them that long to get to that incomplete breed that we saw at the end. Much thanks to Board staff for catching my drunken Math problem solving mistake. :0)

Just cause we dont want to hear that we are lab rats doesnt mean that we are not, we just choose to not beleve just like that one guy told David when he asked why was he created, " CAUSE WE COULD" . We humans are evil, and there for choose to reject the possibility that our Creator is just as evil and demented as we are.
