Ridley Scott said that the Derelict of Alien be stranded in LV-426 for thousands of years. Then the models of the ship is more outdated (their technology is millions of years old) and Engineer pilot is mummified. the interview... And the long arms of the Space Jockey original, well, maybe it's a primitive Engineer or perhaps the Engineer of Prometheus is young and still not developed his maximum size.

Ok here is some concept for the Space Jockey in Prometheus, this is what the suits hanging up are in the corridors leading to the control room on the Juggernaut. This is also the suits the Ghost Engineers was wearing and the dead Space Jockey. compare this to the unfinished production model of the Alien 79 Space Jockey. You will see more similarities between them, than actually comparing the Alien and Prometheus Chair Scenes... You will also notice that that production model is not as large compared to the production staff working on it..... With Alien Ridley used child actors to make the Space Jockey appear much larger... and about 12-15ft The aim for Prometheus was beings who stood about 9ft tall..... but again Ridley made a mistake with the Shaw Attack Scene thinking the 7ft3" Whyte and 5ft3" Rappace would create the illusion of a larger being... when if you then calculated height of him to same Door Vickers comes through and against Shaws 5ft 3" frame then the Space Jockey apears to be 7.5ft Tops. In hindsight maybe some LOTR Visual trickery should had been used, and in Alien maybe not use Child Actors walking up to the Chair. The Art Work of the Shaw Scene shows the Engineer to be about 9ft tall.

Furthermore... Look at the other Prometheus Space Jockey the older ones who died out 2000 years ago and look at his arms... (top image i posted) now look at the arms design on the 2nd image in the chair in the Original Post.... They look a lot more similar. As far as sizes goes i made a thread a long time ago.... Look at Prometheus and Alien Space Jockey Scenes.... look at the size of the head and shoulders in Alien compared to the detailed parts of the back and top of the chair. Now do same with Prometheus and the proportions of Chair to Jockey Match.

@ BigDave, have always enjoyed your technical treatise on SJ size discrepency and a majority of members realize Sir Scott used children in scenes for visual manner but as an audience we were not privileged to that disclosure implying there is still a huge deficit in size continuity .

@ Shambhala about the size, could be what u say, @ BigDave .. yes i remeber they put their own children to act in the set, walking around the chair, and i would take a look of ur thread. I would saw the same line in the design , but maybe is made to tell us somethign about the evolution of the sj, or the diferent kinds of thems.
