300 mil + in the theaters worldwide for sure...
then factor in blueray/dvd and product collectables sales etc., Prometheus has made a serious profit, can't wait to see the next film

Avengers made better in that case. they made way more than 500.

of course avengers pulled in more $. Just look at what the two films are all about. you have a cryptic kubrickian existentialist/lovecraftian picture that was intended to be esoteric from the get go (plus its rated R). On the other side of the coin you have a straight forward action-adventure flick that is, at its core, designed to be pure fun, exciting, and feel-good escapist. No surprise that avengers is pulling in more $...its way more accessible than prometheus. It looks like prometheus will definitely top off at about 300 million worldwide (box office). Considering the "soul" of the film, id say thats pretty remarkable. I truly hope this means sequels! this compelling story NEEDS fleshing out!
