Cool thread Spartacus. Shame HAL9000 isn't on the list... he IS fictional and a 'robot' (computer yes but...). Why is Westworld your favourite? Just curious...

I think I've seen about 90% of these films and will now check out the other 10%... I love A.M.E.E most, because "she" embodies Robot, Animal and Human characteristics... I love the origin of the word robot... you must know this, Its Czech for "work"!

I think we should have a wiki on the Earth culture based on alien contact, sort like information about easter island, nazca lines and sumerian culture info.

at Gimmeafacehug if yo see that film you will know instantly why, Next to Fassbender it is 100% the single best Android Performance BY FAR ever done in film! Everyone who sees that man in that role in that film Westworld says the same thing by the way, it is clearly undeniable that Yul Brynner was one of the greatest actors to ever live and that THAT performance in particular stands out a lot. You have to see it ! Trust Me ! It is remarkeable that it was made that long ago as well when you watch it you will know what I mean.

Man did Iever Love Gran Torino, what a Gem of a film, and Sergio Leone is my all time favorite director. Once Upon a Time In The West is the ONLY film In which I ever saw Henry Fonda {Jane Fonda's POP to those old enough and "in the know"} Play a Bad Guy, and he did it better than anyone has since. That film would have been maybe the only 100% perfect film ever made if it had not been for the way he dies after Bronson shoots him at the end! Still an incredible movie though one of the best of all time as are his other 5 Yul Bryner's performance in Westworld is up their if not surpassing Eli Wallach's as Tuco, or Lee Van Cleef in his role as well. easily eclipses those performances even. It belongs, this performance does.. in a MOVIE HALL OF FAME A MUSEUM WITH A BUST OR STATUE of Bryner!!! It is one of the greatest acting jobs in Film History....BY FAR !

MemberOvomorphJun-30-2012 7:47 AM
and he says maybe 10 words! even though he appears through out the whole film.

I Just though of another sci fi horror movie I liked... Stephen Kings...Christine But it was far more horror I think than sci-fi...still John Carpenter did a Fabulous Job on the translation of that book to film for that one as well!!! Thing was, the Car was possessed Not really Scientifically enhanced, if that's even possible!!!

The drones Huey, Dewey, and Louie, in Silent Running (1972). Notable as the first movie in which non-humanoid robots were made mobile by manning them with amputees. That one fascinates me, I know I saw it many times but have NO memory of it!!! & It sounds awesome when I read the synopsis here for it...I just can;t remember a damn thing from it!!! "Huey, Dewey, and Louie"... that's funny man !!! Must be all the crap I've put in my body since then !!!

I loved Christine... the story of (either) the illusion or power depending on how you view it, of the human mind. All manifested in Is a Plymouth Fury? And @Gimmeafacehug Alien is not old, ripe, etc its full term!
