ANOTHER SCIENCE FICTION TALE

Since the beginning of May, I've been wanting to get around to developing this story that's been in my mind for some time. Unfortunately, my work schedual and university studies (coupled with anxiousness) has made it difficult to get around to it but has led me to focus on more fan fiction and some short story writings. It's not related to ALIEN/PROMETHEUS in any way. Somewhat inspired by Roland Emmerich's 2012, Titan A.E., and The Day the Earth Stood Still-it goes somewhere more philosophical and discovering-and I'm not sure that this "original" idea has been explored before. Until it gets thought out and methodically developed, it's all about wrapping up the story elements and "DNA" of science fiction-along with characters, plot lines, themes and the universe I might have to explore. Anyway, here it is. Hope you enjoy the idea-and remember: It Is Mine! Extinction is not the End... Thousands of years in the future, an advanced, space-faring and brilliant race of extraterrestrials known as the Nomads receive an unknown signal on a frequency of ancient origin. Investigating the source, they come across an ancient area of space known as “The Wake”-remnants of an ancient star system with a white dwarf star. Pinpointing the source, they discover an interstellar ark containing the relics of an extinct race of beings. Not long after, they discover that the ark is the cradle of humanity and Earth’s history. They begin to study and learn all that they can about the “Humans” and begin downloading information from the central AI computer-Noah, analyzing and studying the culture, arts, music, politics, history, and natural wonders of the humans and their long-dead world. For some the discoveries are a bounty of wonder. For others they are useful and manipulative tools. Soon, the more unstable and violent ideas, concepts and bold notions of Humanity’s dark side become a source of separation among part of the ship’s crew –triggering conflict between the two factions. Only a small contingency of crewmembers and scientists stand in the way of conflict: They are unaware, however, that their connections to humanity may run deeper than previously thought. In this short, but grand and imaginative tale, humanity’s place in the cosmos is explored and considered. ARK ROYALE

Wow i like it...but instead of going all clarke, i'd go bradbury ...like in the martian chronicles.. what i mean is humanity although seperates them...shows a common good that binds them eventually... and because of conflict they end up on one of the planets that is habitable then they realise that they are thevathlings now.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to use Arthur C. Clarke or Ray Bradbury as direct inspiration; I'd prefer to use Carl Sagan, H.G. Wells, and the aforementioned The Day the Earth Stood Still, Titan A.E., and miscellaneous to develop this "idea"....
