Do androids dream of Elizabeth Shaw? Part 2...

There are other things too like the way he reacts to Holloway almost all the way through the movie as if bizarrely he sees him as a rival for Shaw's affection or at least attention. Quite apart from poisoning him with the black goo, right from when the crew wakes up there is a frisson of tension between them when David is mildly contemptuous of Holloway's thesis.
Holloway sounds equally contemptuous when questioning why David needs a pressure suit when he doesn't really need one and David's reply is just as spiky referencing 'you people' in a slightly menacing way.
Then there is the part where shortly after rescuing Shaw and Holloway from the storm and Holloway has a bit of a go at Shaw for putting herself at risk, David comes down on her side asking how she is as if wanting to put clear blue water between the angry Holloway and the calm, caring David.
Maybe this is what Michael Fassbender meant when he said that David begins to exhibit human traits the more time he spends with them?
