The visual effects team at MPC started work on ‘Prometheus’ in late 2010, earlier than most facilities due to the role of Richard Stammers, based at MPC, as production VFX supervisor. During preproduction, Ridley approached the team with a large set of concept drawings prepared by the Art Department at his production company Scott Free, mainly depicting the planet’s surface with the spaceship Prometheus travelling over it. "From there we moved quickly into previs, quite early, with Ridley working with us here at MPC in London," said MPC's VFX supervisor Charley Henley.
