MemberOvomorphSep-10-2012 10:41 PMi' m guessing the deacon was a queen and sneaked into an engineers ship, taking it over and crashing it on to lv-426 maybe what do you think?

MemberOvomorphSep-10-2012 10:53 PMdeacon came in contact with the black goo, turning it into the queen.
my prediction

MemberOvomorphSep-10-2012 11:19 PMim thinking...no. Not only do i not like the hypothetical scenario posed, i think it flies in face of the evidence presented in prometheus and alien etc. (certainly not trying to be rude; just answering with my opinion).
i think the traditional xeno/alien pre-dates the deacon (evidence is in prometheus). I think the deacon is a sort of genetic bastard/ illustration of how the bio-weapon can infect and evolve etc. I think the fact that the deacon somewhat resembles the traditional xeno is due to the fact that the weaponized black goo contains genetic elements of the traditional xeno etc.

MemberTrilobiteSep-11-2012 4:38 AMStrangely I both disagree and agree with both Onuris and Joeyjoe...
@ Onuris,
I too have begun to suspect there may be a link between the Queen and the deacon. As we all know the Deacon has a pointed head...

Now if you look at the Queen's crown carapace you will also notice that the center end is also pointed...

So while I am inclined to agree with you that the Deacon may develop into a Queen, I disagree that it will "hotwire" another Juggernaut and crash on LV-426, the evidence in Alien doesn't support it - Dead Engineer pilot with a chestburster hole in his chest, a cargo bay full of eggs protected by a layer of blue laser-mist and Ridleys own confirmation that the derelict Juggernaut on LV-426 crashed there before the breakout on LV-223 2000 years ago.
@ joeyjoe,
While I agree with you that the Xenomorph as we know it predates the Deacon (as evidenced in above), I do believe the Deacon is an example of a first generation Xenomorph, which when taking into account the creatures lifecycle, it would support the possibility of the creature developing into a Queen.

MemberDeaconSep-11-2012 9:44 AMI agree it could become some kind of Queen, but then i dont think it becomes the Queen that we see in Aliens or that lays Xeno Eggs in Alien and thus will produce the exact offspring as the Xeno.
I think we are looking at a Evolution of the Organism, and yes maybe the Deacon could produce off spring that may be similar to the Xeno i doubt it would look exactly the same as the creatures in the Alien Franchise and i dont think this creature is intended as a reboot of the franchise.
In fact i would go as far as to say we may never see the Deacon ever again, not in Prometheus 2 and i think Prometheus 3 may tie in and give clues to the Xeno Organism that predates Prometheus but i doubt will follow what happens to the Deacon.
But then the door is left open for Fox to make another movie about the Deacon.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 9:55 PMas i said in another post, and much more appropriate here.. i'll re-post part of it.
what do you guys make of the "new" alien? its definitely hierarchy, because they normally come out of the body as a "worm" type creature, it took the term chestbuster to a whole nother level, it obliterated that engineer's ribcage, and the only other alien i've seen stand after busting, was the dog on alien.. 2 i believe. and it was stumbling about like bambi.
so.. is there a form of alien hier than a queen? ressuction it was proved that mixing alien/human dna created a beast of an alien..
is this the start of the xeno's? or is it the start of a new strain of xeno's, the projectile mouth was very different from normal. puncture style, it was more of a lock-jaw / tearing mouth, which to me would set it apart from "drones" as a "warrior" class of alien. but it could even be a "king". or a "brain". i didnt mention this for a reason, but the pred-alien could also walk at birth, it was also sentient "a brain", capable of speech, technology, prejudice.
so.. what will this alien become? if the pred-alien became as intelligent as a pred... wouldnt that imply that this Genomorph, as i think i'll call it, has the potential to be as smart as a engineer/human?. thus, in time it could potentially fly itself out of there if it watch's enough holograms. (unlikely but increased intelligence is likely)
david will have obviously left the mapping device set to the engineer homeworld...
or it will be the same as aliens 2.. and hitch hike with shaw and david.
that seems alot more practical than this being the origination of the species... it would also fit in the the explanation given by AVP, that the predators created the xeno's as the perfect "hunt". and using humans in the mayan time's to create their hunt.
this bio-weapon is supposed to accelerate evolution by adding complex DNA. so.. this is the only possible explanation i can think of right now..
i hope its a new strain, and i hope this new strain doesnt like the old strain much :D
it was awesome watching pred's own aliens, watching a new strain own aliens, preds, humans, and engineer's.. would be... spectacular.

MemberOvomorphSep-11-2012 10:09 PMwow..wow..wow...
its said by ridley they created the black goo to fight another unknown species, and that the space jocks changed their minds on humanity around 2000 years ago.
this pissed me off when i re-watched prometheus, but now it actually seems plausible.
did the engineers abandon humanity? or did they have a choice?
as depicted in AVP, which has a pyramid in the north pole which is also co-incdently "2000 years old", and the cultures in the pyramid, we're also co-incidently the same country's listed in prometheus (egypt, somalia, mayans etc) i think the predator's took us from the engineer's, the weaponized goo was meant to cleanse our world to prevent the predator's from abusing their creation's. as through us, they could create bio-warfare which would work perfectly against the space jocks, and what better than to have a planet with a couple of million test subjects who could provide xenotastic entertainment.
the predators have the means to make a nasty war with the SJ's, their not exactly peacefull LoL. and they too are an ancient civilisation.
personally, i think the biggest question left by the film, is why was there an imprint in the "tomb" of the engineer's, to a xeno-like creature?

MemberNeomorphSep-12-2012 6:28 PMI really wanna see that Alien Vs Santa Claus film that's being released 25th december! LOL
The deacon as got nothing to do with Alien, the derelict or the eggs imo.
The poster was good though!
