MemberOvomorphOct-04-2012 4:43 PMYes his stuff is highly stylized and often reminds me of a hybrid of over designed bicycle helmets and The Thing. All scoopy swirly and flared and kinda childish. That said, I love what he did for Prometheus, I thought all he did was the Engineer's pressure suit. I was in fact relieved to think that. Seems like they tried hard to keep things hip.

MemberOvomorphOct-04-2012 5:54 PMI know I just found that out yesterday via the Body Mechanics video. I was surprised, though I should have seen the influence, particularly in the Trilobites tentacles, they appear oddly decorative in full view. I have to admit I loved it, partially because it was a NEW Alien, and I just love tentacles. With the exception of the tentacles and the petals, it seems toned down for his look, or maybe edited. Plus it looks better than the 3d render in your last post, though quite similar. It looks more spider like, or like a huge micro organism. I know I'm in the minority for liking it, but I just DO.

MemberOvomorphOct-04-2012 5:58 PMThat Star Trek thing in particular is ridiculous. And in snow! Honestly I don't like any of them. How does that Hippo/Slug/Pitcher Plant thing eat? I don't even want to find out. He's like a super talented 12 year old.

MemberFacehuggerOct-04-2012 8:52 PMThe design of Shaw's adult offspring is effing brilliant. The close-ups in the film are amazing.

MemberOvomorphOct-04-2012 9:07 PMPatient Leech: yes I think it's every bit as perverse as Ridley promised, especially now that I've been able to examine it closely. Man, it's a horror. It looks like all those puckers around the mouth were originally meant to be mouths too, with little teeth. Wicked.

MemberOvomorphOct-05-2012 2:15 AMThat third image is ghastly, but I'm a tentacle-alien fan too and I love that organic
fourth image of the trilo design. Together with Carlos Huante, there's some pretty nasty alien flesh dreamed up there.
