I want to write for the upcoming films following Prometheus. How would I go abou

First, see if there is a film school of some sort in your state, just look it up on google, and find out their connections and references. IF not them, call or speak with some collages, in or out of state. Such as UCLA, USC, and NYU, and ask for the filming department! But i would first try a film school in your state and speak with one of them, they'll give you references/ advice and explain to them your "wants". Ive been to multiple film schools and they always have good connections/references. (places in cali would have the best) As for as writing for the sequel of prometheus, you would have to be high up in hollywood, but you never know what happens! Good luck!

Oh and i would wipp up a script of what you think paradise should be, or any script, just make sure its good.

Thanks for the reply! I am planning on taking up an apprenticeship in film, that way I can form close to any connection I need. Oddly enough I totally forgot about, thanks for reminding me. I have many scripts I'm writing, one of which I'll direct shortly after I get proper connects with people and get an idea how these things work. Before then I'll be rewriting Prometheus (as I thought the shooting script was simply unfinished) and write drafts of the next films for myself. As for the 'high place' in Hollywood's eye, it doesn't really matter, seeing as they hired someone as little known as Jon Spaihts. All that is needed is a good impression of scripts not so much your level in the public eye.

You'd be surprised how much a "name" means in hollywood. For instance steven speilberg, a lot of people go see his movies just because it says steven speilberg on the front, or james cameron. one thing to keep in mind is John spaihts had multiple years of extensive experience in film school, and had worked on different productions before prometheus. ITs not like he was interested and had a good writing skill. He had years of training for movie scripts as well as connections.

And Ridley Scott hired spaihts, because he was impressed by previous work. Not trying to create any doubt here... But good luck!

I had a girlfriend who was a writer.She had a degree in English.Its a tough business.She made ends meet as a waitress in a chinese restaurant and freelancing by writing articles for various magazines while working on a few novels. The relationship ended(mutually) and I never found out if she got her stories published.She'd talk about the hardships of publishing and it sounded similar to a musician trying to get a record deal.

Oi. Before you get too ambitious, have you written anything before? Have you written anything good enough that someone was willing to pay to read it? If not, I suggest you head over to any of fanfic.net, ao3, or indeed these forums here and, well, share your stories with the world. If you're just starting at this writing thing (my gut says you are, despite what you claim) then you may be surprised at how crappy the finished product on the page tends to be, and how wildly divergent from the awesomeness inside your head. I'm at this stage at the moment. But that's normal. Most people have to work a bit to get skilled at something, so be willing to put effort into it. Or you may find that you're a natural. But for God's sake, write. And have the courage to show your work, however silly it is at first. If I were Riddley Scott, I wouldn't contact you for the script to P2. Instead, if I were really high on that old stash of salvia I found in an ancient sock, I'd contact the dude who writes Paranoobius.
