MemberOvomorphDec-04-2012 6:03 PMIn the 'awakening' scene just before the Engineer strokes David's hair, their is a low angle shot of the Engie facing them and high up near the roof of the chamber behind him - there's a little light...
It looks like a studio light to me, but surely this wouldn't have gone unnoticed in the editing stage? Check it out.

MemberOvomorphDec-05-2012 12:28 AMI don't see it. Please can you describe the shot exactly. There are lots of low angle shots in that scene.
The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile but that it is indifferent

AdminEngineerDec-05-2012 12:32 AMI wish you had posted a screencap Zeta! haha, I'll pop in my Prometheus disc and see if I can grab one. If anyone else does this before me, do post it up so we can see.
I think they would have caught something like that though. ;) Regardless, thanks for sharing this info! I'm curious to see if you're right!

MemberOvomorphDec-05-2012 3:11 AMSorry all, the shot in question is in the deleted scenes 'The Engineer Speaks'
right after Weyland says "my company built him from nothing' - speaking to the engie, but referring to David. Those rather 'earthly' lights high in the background.
Better check the floor too for a Wickes spirit-level and jigsaw, lol.

MemberOvomorphDec-05-2012 4:22 AMThere are quite a few lights on the walls in the deleted scenes that are entirely absent from the theatrical release. They look quite small, more light spotlights than studio lights.
Sorry for the less-than-brilliant quality. These are iPhone snaps of a laptop screen...

MemberOvomorphDec-05-2012 4:53 AMzzplural, it might be that bottom clip there, although I've seen those red lights too. It's a few moment further on right after Weyland's remark - see my second post just above.
The lights are off-white and way up in the 'gods' (pardon the pun).

MemberOvomorphDec-05-2012 5:04 AMNot that it really ultimately matters, too much time on my hands at the moment, lol. Twinkle, twinkle, little stage-light how I wonder what your wattage is.....

MemberOvomorphDec-05-2012 5:22 PMThey look exactly like tracking lights for the VFX crew that the on set VFX crew attach to the walls and are normally taken out when doing a digital set extension. Or just random ship/computer lights in the room. Who can say.

MemberTrilobiteDec-06-2012 5:57 AMDarkgrafix has hit the nail squarely on the head. These mysterious lights are in actual fact tracking lights used for digital set extensions - as with most of the deleted scenes for Prometheus, little to no effort was made to bring these scenes up to the standard of the rest of the movie editorially.
