Hit the link to YouTube to view the video interview with Miss Rapace:

With an expected release time of just 2 - 3 years, we can probably expect news of Prometheus 2 beginning the production stage near the end of 2013 I imagine, unless Ridley's other films and projects take more time away from it.
What do you think about Prometheus 2? Feel free to discuss any opinions towards Shaw's character and her involvement in Prometheus 2, Paradise here!
Special thanks to FlicksandtheCity for the link and the heads up on this interview!

Thanks for the link.
Listening to Noomi talk about up coming movies shows how much time is involved before a movie is actually started and when it actually released.
Many years and like you mentioned, Chris, let's hope RS doesn't get distracted. That can only push a relases date out a little bit more in the future.
I am not familiar with Noomi the actress. I thought her accent was more noticable in the interview than in the movie.
I mention this because years ago I worked with a lady that enjoyed some Elton John songs.
Until she heard an interview with Sir Elton she didn't realize he was British.

As Ridley has said on a few occasions, the hardest thing to do is get the script sorted out. So it's going to take a while.
A lot of people have criticised the screenplay but – believe me – it's not easy to come up with a great screenplay. Try it and see, if you're in any doubt.

@ caenorhabhditis
she is swedish but has also lived in iceland. she speaks swedish and icelandic, which are both derived from old north german (old norse) but are no longer the same, icelandic is much more complicated a lot more like german or latin when it comes to grammar complexity, but they do share a close connection and some of the nouns and pronouns would be similar such as eld (swedish :fire) and eldur (icelandic: fire) etc.
icelandic would be the closest living language to old norse as they have made an effort to maintain the integrity of old norse, and use old norse roots when creating new words instead of latin. typically if you can fluently read icelandic you could read old norse but the spelling and pronunciation have changed somewhat.
swedish, norwegian, and danish are still very similar and in most cases those three can understand each other in their native languages. specifically, norwegians tend to have the easiest time understanding both swedish and danish while swedes tend to understand norwegian but less danish. norwegian and swedish are so close that you can probably learn one and speak the other in most cases although spelling and some words will be different.

@Indy John
this is fairly common - in singing people tend to lose their accent. because you are not just speaking automatically you are thinking about how it comes out.
in film actors are often encouraged to drop their accents or take on new ones -usually with the aide of a language coach. in terms of prometheus, michael fassbender used a much different accent to his normal one - in fact he is half german and half irish and sometimes has more of an irish accent, other times more of a german one.
idris elba (captain janek) also uses something like a southern american accent in prometheus but he is really english, the same with rafe spall (milburn). many of the actors in prometheus used different voices to their natural ones. guy pierce also used an accent different to his own, sounding similar to the way john hurt speaks. if you see most of these folks in the behind the scenes interviews or in other interviews elsewhere you will notice this.

Jenskarlsson is correct, in fact, only one of the cast of Prometheus was American and that was Holloway. Charlize does naturally speak with an American accent, but she is African, the rest all used an american accent.

Asking myself about P2, I would say, What do we know about Shaw, David and the Engineers, and what are we wrong about? I read last night that a general plot has been leaked by Ridley after a few too many cocktails at an awards party. It seems the movie will be, not a continuation of Saw and Davids story but it will be the ultimate prequal. It opens with the big bang. There is only one lifeform, the first Engineer. The youthful Engineer interprets his calling to be, "fill the universe with life as he was filled with life in God's name". Then greed and power corrupt him ..........just kidding. Some of you have read this at other links. David setup the Earth as the next destination for the Engineer's vessle, not the Engineers. The proof is there in the movie. If you disagree check me out at the "Why did engineers want to return to earth?" discussion link. David did what he was programed to do. Now that his father is dead without another objective for him, what will David choose to do on his own and why? Fassbender in earlier interviews talked about elements of his programming bleeding into other parts of his programming creating this unintended result, David having blended thoughts and what might they be. I can hardly wait.

Act 2 lights camera...... I read about the Mellinneum trilogy books and gave them a listen by way of audio books. Didn't know any actress named Noomi. Found her in The Dragon Tattoo (thats where Ridley found her) at about 2am on Netflix's streaming movies. Watched the whole thing and fell in love, so to speak. Noomi Noomi Noomi, what am I gonna do?

If anyone wants an incredibly powerful dose of Noomi, find the Swedish movie "Daisy Diamond". You'll probably only be able to watch it once and you might not be able to see it through, it's that disturbing. Noomi has talked about having her own method in preparing for a role. In Daisy she shows her unique raw and in the raw talent. She came from Swedish theatre and films. Daisey is tough to watch and yet unforgetable. I found it at a torrent sight. Later I found english subtitles too.

I can't wait for this film, and am thrilled that the cast is returning!
That said, my first concern now is who's going to write it.
irt. zzplural: actually, they had a perfectly coherent script for Prometheus; it was called "Alien: Engineers" and was written by Jon Spaihts. Many/most/all(?) of the flaws in the final film are not present in that original script incarnation.
Don't get me wrong, I love the film as made, and while I think Spaihts' script is more coherent, the film as-is is richer in possibility. I'm happier that we got Prometheus, instead of "A:E". But the sequel needs to sort things out, and deliver on the promises. Less room for Lindeloffian buildup.
The whole point of this is lost if you keep it a secret.
