So many of the Ancient stories/text/languages threads are now loist in time but remnents are still about, IN THe US we are farther away from the source and they seem even more distant in the human past. Is there direct connection to any of the Greek/Sanskrit/Akkaddian threafd to our movies storyline? If not then it is a nice ancillary aspect of the movie. However if there is a direct connection to our movie let's hear it. My suggestion for a great movie would be Worlds in Collision is a book written by Immanuel Velikovsky. Now this book has some great stroylines in Earth's developent.

I don't think there's a direct connection but we know Weyland's mother taught comparative mythology from some of the viral material. So there is that. Weyland might have had a zecharia sitchin like view, where all the myths can be compared and spring from only a few original sources, traveling across time and taking on new meanings/alterations/interpretations. It's not spelled out at all in the film but Weyland could believe these beings were talked about in each and every set of myths. Calling them the Engineers and referring to them as gods like in the Greek interpretation allows them to sort of be representative of a hybrid mixture of many of the beings described in myths, with the Greek allusions being predominant. So you can't really say they're one group or another. It's almost as if this is the lowest group in each set of myths... In Sumerian the Igigi (not the Annunaki gods yet), In Judeo-Christian beliefs the fallen/lower choirs of angels (god's helpers), and in the Greek the Atlanteans... they're more like man and not gods... Something else created them. It seems like their influences are from a combination of all the cultures they had contact with, i.e. almost all the other cultures where the starmaps are found. It really indicates that there must have been prolonged contact between cultures... we share bits of their culture and vice versa... The language is a big thing. They were talking to us a lot more than we know so far. In the ancient past. I expect Paradise to address this, concepts like the garden of Eden, Mythic golden ages, a now destroyed Paradise/Heaven on Earth, and Atlantis. The first Engineer culture/colony on Earth.

In fact Poseidon is Enki, Hermes is Ningishzidda(the caduceus is actually DNA), Marduk is Ra/Amun-Ra, and so on and so fourth. DIN. GIR. meant divine vehicle or something that traverses the heavens. I disagree with Mala'kak, however they really have more Near Eastern and Greek elements than anything else. Weyland didnt make the movie Ridley Scott did, and Weyland is completely fictional. What Shaw said in the movie doesnt always conclude that they have an Atlantean aspect. She said that because we still need to keep an open mind and have faith. Halloway seemed more of an atheist than a man of faith. The Igigi were the Eagles that landed just like today when we have a space shuttle we call it an "eagle". Prometheus the Titan and Poseidon might be one in the same. They both have creative minds and make things and also brought knowlegde to man. In other words the Engineer in the begining might be Enki in a way. Because both Enki and Poseidon were associated with water. In truth Enki landed in the waters of the Persian Gulf and he and his Fishmen (Telkines) in Greek. Both were master craftsman and metallurgists. who taught man how to make and fashion things out of metals. What alot people think of "myth" might not be at all. The Old Testament was a later Hebrew interpretation of Sumerian creation, the Enuma Elish. The Enuma Elish speaks of the creation of the solar system from Earths point of view. The Sumerians spoke of a collision with early Earth(Tiamat-she of life). NASA has stated many times more than I can count that earth slammed into another world or planet called Marduk in Babylonian. Nibiru in Sumerian and no its NOT Jupiter. Dyaus Pitar is also an early Indo-European word for Zeus and Jupiter and later on its Deus also a derivative of that language family. Seriously, it ALL goes back to Sumer and Egypt both were around the same time but Sumer is older. Its been postulated that the Sumerians also influenced the early Hindu civilizations like Mohenjo Daro. Atlantean doesn't really fit the category. Quit taking the movie so seriously like when people make an excuse for the SJ's and Engineers, its an inconsistency it happens and I reiterate they are the same species no matter what excuse to give yourselves to make you sleep at night. Besides It doesnt bother me to talk about speculation and imagination its only when you have a movie called Alien which was 30 years ago. The Space Jockey in the original story was meant to be but a kind of early concept which Ridley was gonna get to later on anyway.

As I userstand it the GYA (gigayears) refers to one Gya is equal to (1,000,000,000) years ago. Is GyA a common tern used in historical dating? If you believe Weekly World Reader they say that this planet, Nibiru, is on a collidion course with earth tying in with in the Mayan Calendar day of doom.

Thats something I never ever take in is stuff the internet says. Plus why do scientists instead of going after the real deal always listen to these conspiracy theorists. I get all my information from books you and I BET A SINGLE SCIENTIST has never read all of Z. Sitchins work. They always respond to the nutcases about these convoluted theories. Even NASA despite the double talk that they do, has back in the early 80's to the 90's have spoken about a Planet X. They say nowadays that its just a general term for another exo-planet. In reality since we do use Roman names for planets then why not use the numerals to call it the 10th planet. Its always somesort of hypocritical talk it never adds up. They hear one "theory" and they all have to tell us that its been "debunked". The Mayan doomsday is just conjecture and the changing into a new 14th B'aktun to start over and begin again. Conspiracy people always (I say that alot), make up stuff instead of a valid possibility. Like Nibiru coming in 2012 bullshit, according to the Sumerians its one Shar or Sar which is 3600years. Now the last time it collided with pre-Earth (tiamat) was 4.3 billion years ago. Why would there be another collision especially if it already has had its course laid out after the colliding aspect of it. Now people think its gonna hit again and thats nonsense and now NASA has to tell people that this planet x doesnt exist. But some ex-employees of NASA says that it is out there. Could any of those planets that we have found could any of them be it? It has to be out there but I myself think it is but I still dont know if its PROVEN to be there.
