MemberFacehuggerDec-21-2012 9:08 PMOk, just look at the the simple fact that they can rip someones head off at a mere whim. I don't know if you have ever seen a film called Equilibrium, but that is based on factual martial arts techniques. If you try to reference such information the likelyhood is that you will be pushed down different corridors of information claiming otherwise. So, if you look up the Israeli martial arts specialists at close combat and Tai Chi techniques you will realise that the hand can defeat the weapon. By the way the attack form of Tai Chi carries a different name, this is what Bruce lee was all about, not Kung fu cos that is the hybrid. I'm not going any further with this until some one comes up with the fighting form name of Tai Chi.
Bottom line is, you do not need side arms if you know what you are doing.
I would appreciate someone taking this discussion further.

MemberFacehuggerDec-21-2012 10:37 PMOh come on, it is a dead simple question. All martial arts originate in preventative medicine. slow to medium speed is acupuncture.

MemberOvomorphDec-22-2012 4:16 AMAre you referring to Wu Shu, or Bruce Lee's 'Jute Kun Do' which he originated to be a form of martial arts devoid of any structured forms. He coined the term himself too. His father was a Tai Chi instructor. Tai Chi when practiced as a martial art is blindingly fast with the arms whipping around and with the practitioner uprooting their opponents by transferring the energy from their lower hips and raising it up . Of course, it is also said to be a method of moving Chi and using ones' opponents' Chi against them. This I know from studying Chinese martial arts when I was much younger. I have since given it up for Science Fiction. It takes far too much dedication and daily practice for a lazy person like me. lol.

MemberOvomorphDec-23-2012 3:59 PMI just wanna know or speculate about what other kinds of weapons they have instead of technique. I think they will use a martial art but only when they are gonna do hand-to-hand combat like when the Engineer got angry with the humans he was essantially unarmed. His Pressure Suit when I zoomed in on my TV showed that it heals itself and is actually a protective kevlar like suit. So when one of the mercenaries shot him all it did was blast away the top layer of it.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

MemberOvomorphDec-23-2012 4:24 PMin some ways its scarier that theyre unarmed as though theyre confident in their unstoppability

Your dead right, I'm talking the super fast application of Tai Chi.
@Anunnaki50
The next step from close quarter unarmed combat is close quarter armed. So I think that there could be a range of weapons, like say throwing stars to something like a Klingon Bat' leth. It would be great to work out what style of knife they may have. Or do they have weapons that have evolved from hand to hand combat. At the end of the day any weapon is designed to work within a certain range.

MemberOvomorphDec-25-2012 6:40 AM@Batchpool well maybe but sharp objects? well you saw where that got fifield with the hammerpede! and with humans it would seem that for small numbers... a good slap suffices and larger numbers... bioweapons. And amongst themselves well all that armour? maybe some kind of powerful long taser/needlespear to jab through gaps in armour or into the holes used for the life support tubing.... there head is a weakspot relatively but only when helmet is off so knife/sword type things would have to be verrrry heavy duty n sharp..... just doesnt seem their style though, i'd expect something unexpected

MemberFacehuggerDec-25-2012 4:07 PMI'd love it if the flute we see, doubles up as a sonic weapon. Like producing a signal that resonates with their enemies bodies causing them to explode.

@caenorhabhditis
Yes I would agree to your thinking on this.
There was a post not long ago suggesting that if the Engineers didn't have any kind of personal protection that would make them even more dangerous if they were indeed that arrogant.
As far as the nature of their weapons i would like to see some sort of stun gun.
I don't think the Engineers would have enough mental development for some sort of mind control.
Be choicelessly aware as you move through life

MemberFacehuggerDec-26-2012 12:05 PMRegarding the pressure suit being shot, I am reminded of the question from Lloyd Christmas in 'Dumb & Dumber': "But Harry, what if they had shot you in the head?".
Anywho, I doubt an Engineer needs any weapons.
If we have MediPods, then why would the Engineers not be able to 'genetically repair' themselves in some way?

MemberOvomorphDec-26-2012 10:38 PMMaybe the Engineers had weapons elsewhere on there ship. Just because we didn't see them doesn't mean they did not have any other weapons. We can always use our imagination. Also, they were not expecting human beings showing up on their ship 2000 years ago or 2000 years later.

Anunnaki50
MemberOvomorphDec-27-2012 11:45 PMYeah I guess thats true too sawalker I agree with you on that one. He probably did have them but wasnt expecting to use them when the humans arrive 2,000 years later.
