is it a deacon in the mural?

i always thought it was a deacon intead of a xenomorph

hmmh so: goo infected mating humans-> trilobite-> engineer-> deacon maybe as we're 'sposedly closely related to engineers it just takes the right amount of goo a couple (engineers even) 'gettin it on' and another engineer to get 'cuddled'......

maybe the deacon has some unknown special value that makes them worth all that gory effort surely its a bit unnecessary and hazardous be just a weapon! if true the engineers have to be either well messed up in the head? or stupid and masochistic?

furthermore re the murals existence is it depicted as a focus of worship Or in the way one might adorn a temple with dragons and griffins etc to say 'Look at the powerful scary beasts that guard this place' Thats a point maybe it was a religious place of worship or an actual tomb to someone of import (despot or martyr?) the elders DID want us to come visit at some point But Bob and chums of a warring faction had arrived to desecrate the place and fell foul of the 'guard-dog' or maybe they brought it to prevent humans getting near or away with something valuable (green crystal?) i know im getting far fetched but it is sci-fi......

Creepy adult Deacon...I'm wondering how Deacon/xeno see. They don't have eyes but they always chase their prey precisely :-) They use maybe the SONO/ultrasound, or body heat detection, or change in micro-density of air?

i always imagined because their heads are soo dolphin like that it'd be echo-location or a bio-electricity sensitivity thing

i notice from the photo of the pre-painted mural in the making of art book that there are two doorways one on either side!

I don't know guys the more I talk about this room the more I think it should have had significant screen time and we should have been able to see more investigation. it seemed like fifield and milburn were going to start to have a possibly good conversation about it because when they were stuck in the room fifield began to question what the head meant but then he died. So I am left wondering the real significance of the almighty deacon/xeno(?) mural

Speaking of the deacon, do you think it will be black when it grows up, for a lack of better words, or might it get lighter as it's skin sheds. although that would be the opposite the way the xeno grows(gets darker as it grows) but still...

I don't know about the grown color(I always assumed it would be dark/black) but wouldbe curious if there was any host that the 'goo' could not use as a host. cuponator3000.. There are many questions about the Big head Room and the screen time, though there is much action inn it, still is not enough for understanding what is going on: *The Big Head *Ampules *Why Engineers ran to it *The Murals *The Green Stone I am sure there are others. But any ione of the items i listed if understood in a complete a manner would greatly add to our understanding of what the heck is going on in the story! All have their own threads on this site. But not one has a comlete answer, something to build on. Well except for the ampules contining 'goo'. But even those answers are a little vague.

i like the idea of it paling from the blue to grey to ghostly white and its plausable some creature start out darker like foxcubs etc it sets it apart from the usual xeno look also being bigger and less biomech huantes images are really good i especially like the fact it has pink gums and almost human teeth albeit sharper it gives it an expression (a horrible grin) and in the absence of eyes etc this makes it much scarier to me escpecially if its not being portrayed as something always half in the darkness as with Alien Alien was visually and psychologically about whats hiding in the dark and launching out of it, these movies i feel are more like the horror of finding a pristine white kitchen splattered with blood or a diabolical surgical theater all brightly lit and out in the open a suddenly exposed horror rather than half hidden and if it does move though darkness like say swimming silently through dark water the spooky beluga whale likeness is all the creepier than dark blue or black!

The more i debate about things like this the more possibilities that come up. So many theories are proposed here and they are all great in their own way, but its kind of funny because we probably don't have the "right answers" and won't know untill paradise or if someone gets a tell all interview with sir ridley

cuponator3000 I like your thinking. Maybe we need a thread or separate site to propose wild theories just to exercise the mind and not offend the any scientific posters that demand facts. Make a proposal and then work backwards(sort of backwards engineering) to the facts in our story. For example I can't prove that David has been talking to a 'Shadow ship' or even an outland base' but I would like to now where he is getting needed info..or have advanced knowledge of certain aspects of our moon. What about extra Weyland Employees on the Prometherus? and finally When we first see the Prometheus and info is typed over the visuals.. why does it say 'Destination Unknown'. You just don't send a Trillion Dollar mission just anywhere in the Universe? Someone somehow must have had a destination in mind. We know from viewing what was sort of behind the story but why was this concealed in the informational message? It could state 17 crew members but not the destination? I guess it could be just a way of RS to talk to the movie audience but it looked more in style like it would be displayed on a monitor someplace that was searching for information on this mission.
