I watched most of the Oscars but sadly our Prometheus didnt get the visual effects award. I am happy though that it got Nominated especially a Sci-Fi for even being mentioned was exciting. Life of Pi got best director award Ang Lee won the Oscar. Lincoln got best actor Daniel Day-Lewis. Seth MacFarlane was pretty funny with his usual jokes.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

It's such a shame that the Academy had nothing but a lame joke for "Prometheus", instead of the acknowledgement it would have truly deserved. Very sad indeed.
But I agree with Anunnaki50, at least it got nominated, which is somehow surprising when considering all the bad reviews it received after its release. Hopefully, whatever Ridley Scott has planned for the future will be more 'fruitful' and reach viewers beyond just the fanbase.
So once again, congratulations to Richard Stammers for the nomination and good luck for the next leg of the journey!

IMHO - Prometheus is the most creative & thought-provoking movie since Alien in 1979! Glad to know it got a shot at an award. Prometheus is a movie that really is beyond the scope of understanding for the average movie-goer.

Cheers to that. Like many others I thought Fassbender deserved a nod as well. I missed most of the awards, Ive really grown weary of the crass tone they take, it just gets nastier every year. Its a time to celebrate achievement, not humiliation. What lame joke was made about Prometheus?

@Major Noob: Agreed. Fassbenders performance was outstanding and would have deserved a lot more recognition. I think Noomi Rapace could have done better, as I know from other movies that she has the skills.
For me personally, Idris Elba was among the best actors in Prometheus. A shame his role wasn't bigger, I would have loved it for him to have had way more screentime.
As for the lame joke, Seth MacFarlane made a comment around a quarter into the show: "After the break, the entire cast from Prometheus will be back to explain what the hell it was all about". Something like along those lines...
