I find this to be perfectly reasonable as a motivator for the Engineer.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2013 6:19 AMIt's so easy to dismiss things as plot holes and bad writing, but if you're willing to do some thinking (or watch the movie a few more times) you realize the beauty and genius in not being spoon fed every explanation.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2013 6:34 AMIt's that lack of exposition that ramps up the surreality. Consider, too: was that Engineer in the early stages of infection? A bit of a homicidal maniac coming through? Was he in a BIG HURRY to get on with the business of delivering the final genetic upgrade to Earth, making us into more of them? All I'm saying is don't take the dialog as gospel regarding their intentions. If David knows, he's not necessarily gonna say.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2013 6:58 AMMaybe.... Hmm.. the engineer was looking for ridley Scott? ;)

Co-AdminMemberOvomorphMar-26-2013 11:36 PMIf you look for negative, that is all you will find. Clearly this is the position you've taken with this. Aside of plotholes, and continuity and character development complaints, got anything positive to offer?
Quote: He could have simply hopped into another Juggernaut and woosh, on his way.
He didn't... True story. Thing is, if the Engineer had "swooshed away" the movie would have went in a direction that Ridley didn't plan. Perhaps a little faith in what comes next? I'm not sure myself, but I know for a fact that I'm not coming onto this site "venting" about my upsets of this film.
Hopefully this thread will turn into something other than what it is, otherwise it goes to the "dislike" department seeing that it clearly offers nothing but potential for arguments.

I agree.
People with nothing but contempt for Prometheus should start their own website where they can complain all they want.
As far as i know, this is a FANSITE.
Its been such a long time since the movie came out, and i dont understand why people still come here and create a profile just to write about their dissapointment with the film.
WE CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, we are just members of this forum. But if the goal with all these posts is to annoy people, mission accomplished.
FREEZE!@ please put this thread in the bin.

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2013 5:26 PMHere, here I agree fellow fan I am sick and tired of people talking shite about Prometheus, they should've seen The Hunger Games instead.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

AdminPraetorianMar-27-2013 5:38 PM@Anunnaki50; What's wrong with "The Hunger Games"?? It was really good so I have heard. The girl that was in it even won an Oscar.O_O

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2013 9:01 PMthis doesn't read as an I hate the film thread. This read more like "I'm not sure why this happened so let's discuss reasoning and theories."
in the OPs defence, how can people who wish to dissect, or pose questions like this, be made to feel welcome when the first reaction is "if you don't like it don't come here and talk about it."
Blatant power fan-boyism is just as bad as the wholly negative side as well.
I visit this site regularly. I enjoyed prometheus as a sci-fi film, but felt it was lacking in a lot of areas (some mentioned in this thread, others not yet mentioned). So for that I have dissapointment with regards to the film. Does that mean I cannot come on to this site to read the latest news, or to ponder/discuss latest theories?
I'm just saying that it is a two way street fellas.

AdminPraetorianMar-27-2013 9:19 PM@Xenothinker; Problem is, we have people that ONLY post hate over and over and they never debate, they only find fault. That gets old after awhile. I am one who did not fully enjoy the movie btw, so it's not me taking sides here.

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2013 11:20 PMIts just those kinds of movies arent my thing. The Hunger Games did really well in theaters (I think). So its not a bad movie but I am just comparing it to the awesome-ness that is Prometheus. Jon Spaihts- Is this really you or is it really some guy with his avatar and his username?

MemberOvomorphMar-28-2013 11:29 PMThe reason why I enjoyed the movie was because it didn't act like an Alien film so I wasn't expecting anything even when it was in pre-production. Most of those hater fans out there were doing something with their "nostalgia goggles" and they forgot to take them off. There is a great Youtube video where it actually explains the movie with obvious reasons. Anyways, its not only the ancient alien civilization that got me giddy it was the way the Engineers looked. I mean totally a cross between the Anunnaki stories and the ancient Greek versions on what they looked like as well. The alien part was fine but thats NOT what this movie was about its certainly a big chunk of it but its about the SJs.
