MemberOvomorphApril 16, 2013I've seen a lot of distaste here for the term " Xenomorph". This name has been around for some 26 years, since James Cameron coined it in Aliens.
I understand that part of the problem is that Xenomorph isn't really a proper name, but an adjective. So what do all of you think? Any ideas as to what might be a better name for the beloved Xeno?

How about Incestivus Raptus, Linguafoeda Acheronsis or Biomechanical Nightmare? :D Plus I think the word Necro can also serve.
Anyway the Xenomoph not served by a chronological factor. See Shaw or another crew using that name would be a bad idea.

You know, Shambhala, I was kinda ambivalent about this but the more I think about it, the more I definitely don't want to hear Xenomorph in the sequel. Not that I think we will. How about this: The BIOLATOR.
Oh, I'm just full of fun today.

Now that name fits better with the Trilobite, :p joking. But I do not joke with Star Beast XD

its xenomorph, nothing will ever change that. its interesting, iconic, makes sense, and like the term "space jockey" if you use it for such a long time, it will never change no matter how much you shove a new name into the movies. so why even bother trying? lol

not that it would be in the next Prometheus. of course not that would be stupid. buts thats still what they will always be known as.

No harm in tryin, here's a latin one that seemed to fit (imo anyhow)
silex rictus
Still needs a bit of work though.

Out of interest, one of the Greek to Latin translations for xenomorph is allophylus forma
(just thought I'd mention that)

Craigmore you cut up! My uncle had Court of the Crimson King when I was a kid. Used to stare at that cover for hours. Schizoid Man scared me a bit.
Okay, how about: Macerator Oysterlips?

Ultimate Survival :-)
I have a pretty good idea of where it is. It's just down there, in the basement....

Giger Beast is the only name I'm truly comfortable with in that it relates to the 'original' Star Beast script and it's by Giger ONLY.
This forthcoming Gigerless-universe franchise i.e. Prometheus 2, 3, mini series ... wonder what xeno design renaissance will show its referential head above the parapet.
2013 sci-fi horror novels 'Custodian' and 'Tandem' available from Amazon, B&N, iTunes etc...

xenomorph is fine by me since the films, comics and games always have xenomorph.
although others are named without xenomorph such as predaliens, praetorians and razor claws.
I like to call them as demons from the sky or as engineers would say experiment gone wrong.

How about Mighty Morphin Power Alien?....No..okay.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno
