Prometheus: David's uniform insignia a nod to Fassbender's role in 'Basterds'?

Was just re-watching Prometheus for about the 15th time, and I noticed that during the pool table scene, right before David infects Holloway, he is wearing a green Nazi-esque jumpsuit with a patch above the left breast that looks eerily like a world war II era paratrooper patch. Just curious if that was a nod to Fassbender's role in 'Inglourious Basterds'
