Not that I want to get a into a whole discussion about Prometheus 2 but I've gotta put a voice in this. As a certified Aliens freak Ridley Scott has got to pay tribute to Ripley somehow. Here's how I think the second one should end. [b]The Plot Idea:[/b] Towards the end of the movie there some kind of evolution of the alien and it escapes onto a renegade ship. Yes I know! I know! Sigourney has publically said she is done with the whole Aliens thing. BUT! If our little friend who arrives at the end of Prometheus can somehow morph into the aliens we all know and love today. Then it can get onto the ship. We see an actress who looks like Ripley board the ship and blast off into into space. I'm sure Ridley Scott will do a better job than I am describing. As Ripley goes into cryogenic sleep as she did in the first one, the more evolved alien (as we know them today) is on the ship. How do we know? With the right lights and sets all you see is the tell-tale drool and the hear that heavy breathing. The camera then pans out of from the ship and Ridley Scott cuts away from Prometheus 2 to the scene from Alien where Ripley is sleeping and floating through space. That would be the perfect way, in my opinion, to bring the story back around to where it began.

I think that ship as sailed a long time ago..... Only way we could introduce Ripley would be a Alien 5 Movie and i do think we would see one down the line as Money Maker for Fox, it cant be ruled out but when would they do this? Surely they would want to see how the Prometheus Franchise pans out, so while we cant rule out a Alien 5, we dont know how long in future it would be? 10, 15 years? Then sigourney would be too old to play a Ripley effectively? Nope i dont think we will see Ripley in Prometheus Franchise, maybe a remote chance if they do follow in future the how Yutani and Weyland Merged and then connection to why they sent the Nostromo out with Ash for that mission unkown to the crew to well collect a specimen. But then seriously there would be no need to even cover Ripley in any of that. So chances of seeing a Ripley in any future Alien movies or Prometheus is well very very slim.... Unless they do a reboot, but then they would just use a different actress to play Ripley and thus no Sigourney

10 or 15 years!? She couldnt play Ripley's corpse! Seriously, have you seen Sigourney lately?? Anyway, as to the original post- There wasn't a Xeno on that ship. They stopped at LV426, Kane got facehugged, then and only then a Xeno was released onto the Nostromo. I think i would be more interested in the original Space Jockey crash/emergency landing wrapping up the whole thing. A cool theory i read on here was that Shaw may actually be the victim inside that huge suit (if she was somehow able to fit inside the flight suit- which she must be, right? She flies off in a Juggernaut after all) Anyway i think I'd rather leave Ripley in 1978 with her timeless white panties (mmmm) as i hate when they change the actor playing a role almost as much as CG faces. (Looking at you, Jeff Bridges)

I saw that Shaw theory too and thought it was wonderfully apocalyptic. However, its one inconsistency too many with Alien, I assume if they wished that sort of tie in they would have gone to some lengths to replicate the Derelict interior, and given us much larger Engineers, although I do believe their Juggernaut tech is stolen/ borrowed/ adapted SJ tech. That's me being a VERY optimistic geek, of course. LHR- I know you're getting a lot of contrary response here, but Im afraid Im gonna have to add to it: We all of course share your enthusiasm for the Alien saga, and for Sigourney's Ripley. There will of course be continuity with the original story ( I think Alien only, this being Ridleys baby. ) But I think it will mostly be in the form of visual and verbal cues, not young versions of the original cast, unless they mean to flash forward several decades. They might, but even then I don't see what part the Nostromo crew could play. I don't see it, I think there's too much story on the table already. Working in Ripley would only confuse things.

lol That was my point only way to have Sigourney would never work, unless it was a Alien 5 but then at 63 i cant see Fox doing a Alien 5 for a long time if at all and by then well she would be very old... Mind you for 63 Sigourney dont look bad at all, she was never for me a wow would do her babe anyway even in her prime (Aliens, Ghost Busters etc). But compared to what she looked like 34 years ago she has aged well.... Anyway back to topic only way to introduce Ripley would be a young Ripley but we have to remember she was not major, not in the plans of Weyland etc... she was mearly just a part of the crew and just Nostramo Chance or Ravel really... And the only connection to the franchise of when she was of importance was Alien so no point in covering her prior to that point. As far as Shaw and Space Jockey... it wont happen... I dont even think Ridley will ever explain that one, well not in detail in the movie... As he has already covered it and basically The Derelict Crash Landed on LV 426 some time between (approx) 200 BC and 200 AD As a result of getting Face Hugged from the contents of a Egg in the Cargo Hold.... Thus it does not run with the Prometheus timeline unless they do a flash back scene to wrap up the franchise for the Fanboys.

Ripley should come back in an Alien 5 alright, but it just needs to be written over Alien 3 and 4 which were shameful. Think of the potential of a grown-up Newt who leads a fight against aliens and their use by the company, with an older Ripley and Hicks!
