Engineers Inspired By SpaceJockey

MemberOvomorphJune 21, 20131707 Views24 RepliesThe twist that the Enormous Space Jockey was in fact a Human in a suit never sat right with me.
Perhaps, The Paradise Script could flip this on its head AGAIN!!!
By showing: The Engineers were inspired by SpaceJockey's, that the two are seperate species and engineers built their suits imitating actual large beings SPACEJOCKEY's ?
Im not saying this is actually the case Im only saying HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE?

It would be very interesting!!!! I would be glad to see it. We have seen our fair share of theories about the engineers and/or the space jockeys on this forum and the fact that the original sj is different than the engineers in Prometheus is a rather major one and widely agreed on. Truthfully, I think that's a great way to take the story

Long ago I had the idea that biomechanoids were ancestors of the xenomorphs

Well Kaiju Blue, I'd be happy if Part 2 contained that concept.
An emphasis on SJ's & Engineers rather than Morbs & humans. Imagine 25ft creatures & their culture being incorporated into the story! (Perhaps some other weird, unfamiliar lifeforms too?)
Ridley could consider that as a way to proceed.

I'm behind that too. It's not out of the question, that's for sure. Who created them? Yeah, could be the Space Jockeys. If I had something like the Goo, the first thing I'd do is make a bunch of little blue tools to deal with it, and set up a nice campsite of horrific dirt mounds far far away for them to do it in.
A word of caution, though: any one of a thousand things could happen. Dashed hopes ruined Prometheus for many. Just sayin.

NO NOT THIS S**T AGAIN! Newbies always have to bring up old crap we've discussed a million times before. But as I can plainly see its started all over again like kicking a dead horse. I'm glad they dashed those hopes it gets old and tiring hearing the same old bulls**t over and over again. I liked the old concept too but things change for the better it makes the explanation better and easier to understand for young people. Anunnaki inspiration was alot better than some Elephant man thing thats ridiculously 25ft come on! Ridley Scott is not going to go with this delusion he sticking with it like it or not.
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

Ah, hello there, Annunaki. You could be right. I'm cool with that, too. But I do believe there will be some sort of next level intelligence. Shaw wants to find who made the Engineers, which strongly suggests she will do just that. Now, that could also be a bit of misdirection, I know. There are all sorts of clammy possibilities. Clammy, as I like to say, like Boris Karloff's groin.

If anything, the Engineers seem to have taken inspiration from the Xeno.
The 'suits' (is it a suit or is it integrated after tweaking their DNA with that of the Xeno) look just like them.
Even the flight suit looks like a facehugging hammerpede attached to their faces.
Could they have been bigger? Sure. But after many interviews with Ridley, it seems quite clear that the Engineers and Space Jockeys are the same dudes. They took certain liberties to make it more filmable and less ridiculous, bit Prometheus is the story of the Space Jockeys, im quite sure.
@Annunaki- let's take it easy on the 'newbs', im just happy there is so much action on the site again. And without them, where would all of your misplaced aggression possibly go?!
As The Major said- you are one passionate MF, and i both admire and respect that.

Okay I will take it easy because I was once a newbie too I admit that we all were at one point in time. Its not that I dont like them its that when you're trying to tell someone hey its a little different than whats really gonna happen. They kinda ignore us and they keep going on about how they see it. I promise NO MORE agression I'll keep my cool. Major Noob is cool I always liked this dude because his PARANOOBIUS is a real cool story. Im not mad its just my passion for my interests. BTW lost my job last week so I was a little on edge.
I do wanna see another intelligence but its got to be something thats wayyyy different than we're used to seeing. Like a type of huge monstrous creature thats like "the elder god" from Legacy of Kain. Just a big massive squidlike many eyed animal but with smarts far more advanced than anything else we've seen. I do like the Morb name its very creepy and gross sounding.

With all due respect, if your concept does come to be in the sequel, I'll be greatly disappointed. It seems to me you just want another monster movie.
Prometheus is a serious science fiction speculating about our origins. The Engineers being our ancestors/creators gives the film a whole new philosophical dimension.
Please, let's not encourage the writer to dumb the Alien franchise down.

I can only speak for myself, but Im not envisioning a monster movie. I do believe the theme of Biology Run Amok will figure strongly in the next chapter, though, and RS has made some rather dark comments about where the story might go. I'm just a fan of the Giger aesthetic, and hope to see some more UGM ( Universal Giger Matter), whatever form it may take.

What Noob said ^^^^^^^
Also, I've been away for a while, just lurking on the odd day here and there. I've seen a few posts that mention a "Morb" what is a Morb?
The poster was good though!

N4- welcome back! I posted a discussion a while back asking for alternatives to the term Xenomorph, which numerous members have stated they dont like. Just for fun I proposed: The Morb. It caught on with a few others so I'm shamelessly using it too. Morb = Xenomorph.
June 22, 2013
Well I personally hate the term "Xenomorph" as you may know. I call it the Necronom, as the alien is based on the Giger painting Necronom 4 but I don't think people like that. I do prefer the name Morb to Xenomorph though!
P.S @Kaiju Blue. Sorry for going off topic.
The poster was good though!

id like to throw my seed on a planet. go across the galaxy at the speed of light bang my girl and come back all in ten minutes time.
see what has resulted in the past 300,000 years .

I just want to see something a bit surreal, not necessarily have to be a monster.
@Major Noob, you've hit the nail on the head with the term "Universal Giger Matter."
