One of the complaints I've heard is the difference in the engineer from Alien and the one in Prometheus, I've always argued that one such like the one from Alien, is actually in Prometheus the pile of corpses. (Obviously his chest actually exploded from the substance in the vases, why he's so similar.) and here's a cool little image I've found to be productive to my theory. Perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility. I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality.

@the1perfectorganism All the engineers in the pile had head injuries. Not chestbusts. If you can find a clear picture, take a look.
"how do you feel?"-" great, next stupid question"

For all intensive purposes the idea behind the drafts was the same race... Only they could not go and create a 12-15ft Engineers on Screen so idea was to revise them as 9-10ft... but in reality just as the Alien 26ft Jockey never fooled us and gave us a 15-23ft one (Child Actors to Adults next to the Pilot Chair illusion). Prometheus again never fooled us to seeing a 9-10ft tall Race either, the problem was Ridley likes to be practice he does not like using CGI and other effects. In hindsight had he used the same trickery they used in Lord of the Rings to turn 5.5ft Actors to appear as 3.5ft Hobits... the same technique could turned 7ft+ actors to appear as 9-10ft and thus match more the Dead Engineer Corpse and Head which if you compare the size of the Head to the Engineers is larger a good 33-40% Larger

As far as the injuries go well some appeared to have head injuries others had holes in other parts of the body.... and i have the answers to that which will post in the --- why did they explode thread... But the ones in the cryo pods had Chest Holes for sure...

100% BigDave. 3 chest-bursted Engineers in cryo. When are you starting Explode thread?

Nah its just a decayed helmet thats has parts missing from lying there 2,000 years ago. Your seeing them with "Alien" goggles and its like seeing a smiley face on Mars.

The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno

Anunnaki50 I never said it wasn't a helmet you mong. I just said from the way it's decayed it looks far more like the one in the first Alien than the one that is nicely preserved in Prometheus. That's all. Just a little nod to appease people, they are in fact the same design. I love Prometheus, I have no "Alien Goggles"

pulserifle187 Yes but they had body injuries also, which makes me theorize that the one in the original film was actually infected by the black stuff in the vases, not any form of Xenomorph. Hence why they never found one in the derelict in either Alien or Aliens (As I am of the opinion that they don't age or if they find no-hosts they'd go into a state of hibernation like the eggs.)
