Giger Influence on Med Pod Scene?

Wow This is interesting. Well to me it seems very strange if it was a coincidence. I have now learned that they will most likely use anything to their advantage to make money. So not only unused ideas from scripts but also unused artistic ideas.

Where did you get this ? maybe a study of giger art might be relevant to the alien prometheus connection.

Well Giger Influence is everywhere. The Derelict was designed by Giger and based on his Alien Life Cycle, the Bald Headed Engineers was on his Original Cycle then a Alternative one where they had Space Costumes on with masks that had hoses on them. We see Bald Humanoids sitting inside what looks like the Space Jockey Pilot seat, and also other masked beings in similar devices. Then we also have the design of the interior of the Derelict and indeed the Xeno Hives that resembles Gigers look as far as Architecture goes. The list is endless, even in Prometheus the Temple Mound is based of his Unused concept for Dune. Also the internal layout as well. Not to mention the Xenomorph Original Design was based off his Work. And now i came across the image in OP that looks like the Medpod scene. Maybe if we scour every piece of Giger work we could find some stuff and ideas that would lead us to maybe what we could see in Paradise. And a lot of his stuff shows us various humanoids that are molded into and part of a Bio Mechanical Machinery and Architecture and maybe Aliens used this for the Cocooned Victims on the Walls? But i would not be surprised if Shaw and David find that God is just one giant Bio Mechnoid Machine or Building/Temple.

Exactly, there's no need to look anywhere else for ideas and anyway what could be better than his? Yeah that giant Giger inspired biomech being/machine would be awesome if done well. Let's hope so!

Who knows and Ridley might not go that direction its too obvious and expected. I am thinking that his version of a diety will be more than just a talking hooked up body or face. He might use a huge mighty ancient Engineer from the earliest beginnings of the universe and galaxy.

@oduodu Yes Species did take influence from Giger... Also a lot of his work does feature female form heavily. Maybe that image could be a influence and we could see the creator as female, maybe Gaia?

Could be either way as his artwork is very Ambiguous we only have to look at his Mural for Prometheus. And the Original Alien Life Cycle one again also some of that was open to interpretation. My interpreation of the Orginal Xeno Cycle Mural was exactly what we see in Alien and Aliens but that the Eggs are created somehow by the Derelict itself. And Prometheus to me shows that something was sacrificed to create something new i.e Re-Weaponizing of the Xeno Bio Weapon via method the Sacrificial Engineer seeded life on Earth.

I saw that picture and its really weird with an umbilical cord coming out of her vagina straight up into a container with some creature in it. I have noticed years ago that Giger loves bio-mech vaginal openings and birth canals.

Maybe God could be a gigantic female Machine then ;)
