Nah the Preds evolved on their own. Engineers like to destroy before they create. So they killed a bunch a Predators, broke down their genetics, altered them, upgraded them, re-created them, re-introduced them to Yautja Prime, and then those Predators became known as the Super Predators. A bigger version of Predator mixed with Engineer DNA. Or Predator 2.0 as Bob the Engineer likes to call them. These Super Preds, which are really Engineer-Predator hybrids, are now exhiled from Yautja Prime, and failed their mission of dominating the entire Yautja population and replacing them...They were to be he next step in Yautja evolution, and some became slightly bio-mechanical to control hunting devices.
Lol it could work :P I hate those stupid Super Predators. Worst idea ever. The Engineers actually created the Super Preds, but it was a worse mistake than humans, they're completely useless now, and the Engineers are already on their way to destroy them forever with the deadly form of the goo/Alien bioweapon. They made it there because humans never got in their way. It took them a while but they killed every last Super Predator that was kicking around, and let the good old classic Predators live out the rest of their existence away from the Alien.
