MemberOvomorphMar-16-2014 4:26 AMTheres already a movie with the title "Paradise".

And the other reason why it wont be used is because it is too widely general.

MemberOvomorphMar-18-2014 9:02 PMI always hated the title "Paradise", so this is good news to me.

MemberDeaconMar-19-2014 10:37 AMWell i think Paradise would be a bit odd, as yes a lot of movies have used it and well is really a movie that would lead from Prometheus be Paradise?
Nope only Paradise as in because there is a place these Engineers come from and as they are supposed to be who we interpret as Gods and the Gods come from a place that some cultures refer to as Paradise is where this link comes from.
Thus to name the movie Paradise would distance its connection to Prometheus to the casual fans who never knew what connection Alien and Prometheus had, thus they would not make connection that Prometheus and Paradise have.
So for that reason the movie would be better of using Prometheus: Paradise.
Just as Alien 4 was Alien: Resurection. so a conection can be made.
And even if they dont use Paradise..... what ever name they use they would have to have in the title either Prometheus... or Alien i would assume.

I agree that they need something that reminds people of Prometheus, and something other than Paradise.
What about Epimetheus as the title for the sequel?
Epimetheus is the Greek Titan of hindsight, brother of Prometheus. Others have suggested this title in the past. What are your thoughts about using Epimetheus as the title?
Do you think it could work? Would Epimetheus sound enough like Prometheus to the general audience? Do you like that name for the sequel, etc?
I kind of think it could work, would cue ppl in to some sort of link to Prometheus, but might not sound as interesting as other names. Might not appeal to the general audience as much as something like Prometheus: Paradise.
What are people's thoughts about Epimetheus?

MemberFacehuggerMar-21-2014 1:20 PMI must admit I'm not keen on the name Paradise. If I were given the chance to put a title on it I'd choose something like:
Prometheus 2 : The Mekone Settlement

Not sure what route they would go as for a name, but i would think it would have to be connected to the creator, and place where God/Gods come from, which maybe is where Paradise comes from.
But depending which religon of culture Paradise is a different place, some its representive of Heaven where the dead will be with the Gods, but in others its a seperate place where people can live for ever and is a place of wonder a Paradise.
If they are going the Greek Route then that place is Elysium but there also has been a movie called that.

MemberOvomorphMar-22-2014 3:19 PMPrometheus: Paradise.
I mean, we don't really know the plot. Maybe "Paradise" fits or maybe it doesn't.

MemberFacehuggerMar-23-2014 4:17 AMThe title Paradise is widely general, thats right. But isnt the title Prometheus also too general. If you enter Prometheus in Google Pictures, you just see Pictures of the film and not pictures of some drawings of the Greek god as it was before. Same in Google. If you enter Prometheus, the Algorithm adds Prometheus 2 and words like film or something else...

MemberNeomorphMar-23-2014 7:40 AMI don't see anything wrong with just naming the sequel Prometheus 2. I have to agree with you all that Paradise isn't a very flash title and i don't agree with Ridley that the word "has sinister undertones." And like somebody else said, "it is widely general."
I think that if they do explore LV 426 again in another sequel and the story is mainly about the space jockey, a good name for that might be LV 426 or Acheron?
The poster was good though!
