Well despite the criticism of the original we all need to accept that it is out there and in fact upon rewatching it is actually a great story. If Sir Ridley Scott planned a trilogy, then this chapter laid the groundwork. We can be thankful that unlike another legendary director, Sir Ridley Scott didn't opt to write the script. I am glad it left unresolved questions. I feel that everything that happens leading up to the Nostromo is quite fantastic. We don't need to jump the shark. Here are my thoughts
CHAPTER 1 - PROMETHEUS - It exists. It left questions unanswered.
CHAPTER 2 - EVOLUTIONS (Synopsis) Although this would upset those who believe we(the human race) came from GOD or the Almighty Being. What if we were to have come from the black goo which is in fact the Primordial Soup.
Chapter one dealt with the engineers as possible creators of the human race. Evolutions would touch on the evolution of the Xenomorphs and of course the Weyland family. The movie should open with the Weyland heir apparent (Vickers brother) TO THOSE OF YOU WHO REMEMBER WEYLAND SAYING THAT DAVID WAS THE CLOSEST HE WOULD COME TO HAVING A SON, THE VICKERS BROTHER BACKSTORY IS SIMPLE. HE DID NOT WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIS FATHER OR WEYLAND CORPORATION, SO THEREFORE HE WAS DISOWNED. HE ONLY TAKES THE REIGN BECAUSE BOTH HIS FATHER AND HIS SISTER HAVE DISAPPEARED. HE WILL IN TURN BECOME A SOMEWHAT RELUCTANT HERO, launching an investigation into the Prometheus, he encounters some objections from the 2IC (Our Protagonist - who is harbouring his own secret and agenda) who believes that it is a waste of time and money, and that they should let their insurer pick up the tab. Despite the objections the Weyland heir assembles a team of investigators (non-scientific) to head to the LV-223. The protagonist of course joins him on the mission to ensure that no money is spent unnecessarily, we of course will discover his secret and hidden agenda (and it's not what you think, in fact. It's bloody brilliant)
After 2 years in hypersleep they arrive at LV-223.
Shaw and david have been travelling space in the Engineers craft looking for answers, they land on what is deemed to be the engineers home planet only to find it decimated. There is evidence of a great battle, with what or whom we are unsure. What they determine though is that LV-223was not just a military installation but in fact it was a slave colony, the question is who were the slaves?" It is evident as that LV-223is the launching place for a full scale infestation invasion of earth. Shaw and David realise that in order to save the earth from from the Engineers and the planned infection of earths population is to go back to LV-223
This synopsis works and would fit in with the existing Alien universe, because up until this point the Weyland Corporation is privately owned, so there would be no need for mass panic or government involvement, meaning that all of these events can happen without general knowledge. Also, as all we have at this point is the recording at the end of Prometheus by Shaw, even Weyland Corporation would not be aware of the events that have occurred in the previous chapter.
ARRIVAL - Upon arrival the Weyland crew start exploring their surroundings and find trace elements of the destruction of the Prometheus, but nothing else.
- here was can explore and establish the Xenomorph | Engineers mythology, answering some questions, whilst asking more (to be resolved in chapter 3)
FAR FETCHED IDEA - How fantastic would it be if VICKERS who we believe was squashed in the original was in fact the ORIGINAL CONDUIT for the XENOMORPH Queen. Think about it, prior to the ship rising from the planet we see the ground as unstable and collapsing. Is it to far fetched, as a plot device to imagine that VICKERS (prior to being squashed) fell into a cavern, thus saving her from one death, only to have her infected with a XENOMORPH strain. I can see the new group discovering her body central to breeding ground of a XENOMORPH strain that blends the collective DNA to provide us with the XENOMORPH we know and love. It is fitting, that the ice queen and bitch from the first chapter become the ultimate BITCH.
After the Weyland team spend time on the planet, they discover interconnected tunnels that lead them to discover the other ships and stasis pods of the remaining engineers, here we can discover the true elements of the goo, here we can establish that the engineers are just a race of beings, not THE race. I strongly believe that they were mere visitors to earth not the creators, and having already experienced the black goo, and having visited earth many times before, they knew there was a race they could infect that would help them build an army. So you have a new team of investigators, you have Shaw and David, you have the evolution of the xenomorphs, you have conflict, mystery, fear a battle for survival. You also have more engineers who were in stasis. Shaw wanted to know why the engineers changed their minds. In evolution, Shaw discovers that they didn't change their minds, they lost control.
CHAPTER 3 - PARADISE
The survivors manage to escape The LV-223 moon and plan to head back to earth. All goes according to plan until they are forced to land to refuel. David has identified another moon that has the fuel required fuel (LV-223). Most questions are answered in the Evolutions chapter, but a couple of questions remain unanswered. On this new moon, those questions are answered. Little do these remaining survivors know, but they are about to encounter the birthplace of the black goo. They are about to encounter the origin of the "Decon Queen". The mural from Prometheus is finally explained. We discover that the engineers are not the all powerful race, but in fact were slaves of the xenomorphs. This will be the ultimate battle, a battle that will result in the physical xenomorphs we all know and love. A battle that will end in the sole survivor activating a distress beacon that will rudely awaken the team on a little rusted tin can we call Nostromo.
________________________________________________________________________________
The engineers, as slaves of the xenomorphs were only heading to earth at the bidding of their masters. They had visited many times before as seen in cave drawings to essentially Terraform the earth as the new nesting place for the xenomorphs race. The xenomorphs themselves are in control and have been throughout time. They, like ticks latched onto the Engineers 1000's of years ago. We will learn that engineers have always been the Braun but the hive intelligence of the Xenomorphs has always been the brains. Clearly from the holographic imagery of the engineers running in fear, we know that they are afraid of something. Fair to think that we were witnessing was the crushing of an uprising. History has shown us that even slaves have been allowed a place of worship. Thus the large head room from Prometheus, despite the representation of their god, the mural was always a reminder as to who they were really bound to.
________________________________________________________________________________Yutani is the key for the third instalment. As a nod to Aliens. You have Weyland already established as a multi trillion dollar company who in Aliens has already decided to put colonists on LV-426. Yutani also established as a multi trillion dollar company could have already sent their own crew out to explore and terraform LV-426. Of course these two companies are working independently of each other, so it would make sense that one would not know about the others plans and objectives. So For the survivors of Evoloutions to land and surprise the Yutani crew on LV-426 would not be completely out of the question . And would fill a plot hole and provide a new cast :) Remember, Weyland-Yutani merged between ALIEN and ALIENS almost 70 years after the events described above.

NODS TO THE LEGIONS OF FANS - OPPORTUNITIES
1. VICKERS becomes the original XENOMORPH CONDUIT QUEEN (A scene of discovering her body at the centre of what is a different version of the EGG ROOM from Alien and Aliens)From Vickers the FACE HUGGERS are born.
2. We saw LV-426 in the middle of a storm, by PARADISE we see it lush but barren and expansive (as we did LV-223) which is why it is referred to as PARADISE and why YUTANI are Terraforming.

MemberNeomorphMay-11-2014 6:15 AMWelcome to the forum Michael. You have some really interesting idea's there, like Vickers becoming the original Giger Alien. However, i don't think that would be possible as she was crushed by the juggernaut. I know you have a possible explination for her survival, but when the juggernaut rolled over her, we could clearly hear her being crushed, i don't see how anyone could assume anything other than her being dead.
There would also be a problem with trying to make people believe that Weyland has a son. In Prometheus he refers to David being "The closest think to a son i will ever have."
There is a possibility of Shaw becoming the original Queen Alien, but if that is the case, i think that there should be some sort of time travel element to it. I've always loved the idea that the derelict, space jockey and cargo of eggs on LV426, had been there for thousands, if not millions of years before the Nostromo landed there and i wouldn't want it to be explained in any other way!
I actually like the thought of Shaw and David somehow becoming the alien's biological parents through some kind of mutation, then travelling back through time via a worm-hole - I wouldn't want to actually see them time-travel though, it would be too Dr Who like, but have some reference to it.
I would also like to see another stage in the alien's growth, like it cocooning itself then emerging transformed into something that looks more humanoid.
The poster was good though!

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2014 11:47 PMVery good read and interesting.
Love Vickers surviving. Id have her found, cocooned and face hugged by Shaw's Deacon tho, having grown into a Queen and starting up a hive.... This could be added to by newly caught members of Weylands Son's team...
Weyland's Son could be a Black Sheep type, who was disowned by his Farther because of his hatred of Commercialism and Money. He is lured into this quest because he is keen to find out what happenned to his beloved Sister, who is a cold but loving Mother figure to him.
I don't like the idea that the Engineers are slaves to the Xeno's... In my book the Engineers are cloned meat bags, used by a higher form, of which we are yet to see. They are used as conduits to spread life via the Black Goo throughout the Galaxy. They rebelled and acidently created the Xeno species by mis-using the black Goo... and possibly through Shaw's pregnancy.
The Black Goo only has life creating effects when used on promordial, simple life forms. If inflicted on advanced forms of life it has varied and unexpected effects.... This has happened before some two thousand years before when it escaped on LV422 and infected the revolting Engineers. Most of the Engineers present were infected and died. Some however escaped to their ships and escaped only to either crash on other Moons die in space. The Space Jockey is one of these and of course is responsible for the action in Alien some decades after Prometheus.
Shaw and David find Paradise. This turns out to be another Planet inhabitted by the more advanced creators of the Engineers. These Creators are astounded that Shaw was able to track them down, yet are horrified when they find out what indeed has hapenned on LV423 and blame her for the re-creation of this abomination and action insues......
Any way welcome to the site!!

MemberOvomorphMay-13-2014 12:45 AMThank you for the warm welcome and feedback :) I had already thought of the Vickers brother angle, great minds Brego :) It's great to share ideas and synopsis. If you believe what you read, Sir Ridley was unsure on where to take the story after Prometheus, I think we can help..

MemberOvomorphMay-13-2014 12:51 AMI want to stick with the Slave connection though. I honestly believe it has some "balls" The fact that we see the all powerful Engineers, running in fear to escape something "terrible" just added some amazing layers of complexity. Gosh, I hope they really explore all avenues open to them when writing this.

MemberOvomorphMay-15-2014 3:40 AMHello all.
I like some of the elements fo Michael's scenarios, while I have some objection to others:
* I love the idea of Vickers surviving. In fact, I've always seen it as a given. That character brought so many questions that need answers in subsequent movies. She was too interesting to just be killed off so pettily.
Here's my take on her: She is in fact another android, only FAR more advanced than David. She is so advanced that she's practically human. Her android body is so close to human flesh that it may as well be mistaken for such - and THIS is where the Xenomorph comes into play. They impregnate her - and against all odds the gestation takes hold because she is so close to being a "real" organism. NOW we have the perfect bridge between the "fleshy" bio/organic Trilobite Facehugger- and Deacon Aliens and the Biomechanical Aliens we've come to know. This makes perfect sense because the Engineers already have radically advanced biomechanic technology (their suits "meld" into their flesh seemlessly at wrists and neck, and the Alien Space Jockey is essentially melded into the machine), and the Xenomorph always takes on the traits of their hosts in order to perfectly adapt to the environment of the host. This is how we could see the appearance of the first Alien Queen, or one of her predecessors. We must not forget that there is basically no end to the possibilities of different life cycles of the Xenomorph. The Queen > Egg > Facehugger > Soldier/Queen life cycle is probably just ONE out of a multitude of variations. The introduction of the Black Ooze made the Alien life cycle a biological free-for-all.
* I do not see the Xenomorph being the masters of the Engineers. I have two reasons for this. First off, the Engineers have already been established as masters in that they seed planets with life (for an unknown purpose). There also seems to be at least two factions of Engineers. One is the more spiritual caste at the intro of the movie. In the deleted scenes there was a big ceremony taking place with robe-clad elders giving a blessing to the young man who sacrificed himself as the seeder for the planet (possibly primordial Earth, or post dino-extinction Earth). They don't seem to be of the same stuff or philosophy as the Engineers the team encountered, who seemed bent on destruction of life rather than its creation. These two seem to be too important and powerful to be dominated by Xenomorphs. The holographic images of Engineers fleeing would be the natural reaction to losing control and evacuating. It doesn't suggest that the Xenomorph are the leaders and the Engineers are their "brawn" footsoldiers. The Xenomorphs have their own footsoldiers.
Secondly, Xenomorphs are, and have always been a psychotic form of life whose only instinct and drive is to seek out other life and destroy it, either by killing it outright or using it as hosts to further their own species. While highly intelligent, they don't seem to have any higher social drive beyond that. They are like a virus. Like a virus, they consume all resources until nothing remains, which is ie utterly self destructive because when there is no more life, there can be no more hosts. That's when all soldiers and queen eventually die, and only the dormant eggs remain. The thought that they would be masters of the Engineers, having some kind of hive civilization, giving commands or have some kind of higher objective behind their destructive existiance would, IMHO totally change them into something more reminiscent of the aliens in Indepenence Day. It would humanize them too much. The entizing thing behind the Xenomorphs go far beyond James Cameron's vision which basically degraded them to mere oversized insects.
* The mural of the Alien in Prometheus could have been a generic Alien, and not specifically the Deacon. I saw the mural a the Engineer version of a warning label: "THIS is what may happen if you do not handle these jars with the utmost care". The Engineers have the same mindset as human ancients. Art and hieroglyphs were part of their mindset, part of the "thought world" of human ancient cultures, and it's still part of the Engineer's mindset. That's is why we see so much lavish art that goes beyond the bare minimum functionality. Hence the large deity-like head that oversees the jar chamber, and every single formation on the walls - and the alien mural.
* I imagine Paradise as something completely "out there". Totally alien and almost inconcievable. I imagine the entire planet is completely consumed by the biomechanical formations (Giger designs) we've seen associated with the Engineers. The Engineers also has the ability to fully integrate themselves, and meld with this technology, and seemlessly become part of their environment. Much like the Space Jockey had melded with the chair in "Alien". Basically, I wanna experience a real live Giger airbrush painting. Paradise would be Giger's world. Nothing looks "built" but instead "grown". Doorways that are reminishent of bodily orifaces and genetalia. Formations that are reminiscent of vaginas and penises are prevalent in Giger's work - but they only happen to look like something we recognize out of some strange coincidence. OR maybe it's not a coincidence? Maybe our reproductive organs are inspired by the Engineer aesthetics instead of vice versa? After all, the Engineers seem obsessed with the creation of life, or even the concept of life itself. I can also see how the entire Paradise planet is an organism in and of itself. Maybe it's the representation of the ultimate end stage that every planet ultimately evolvs into? Maybe the Engineers are then "sperm" of that planet sent out to other planets in order to seed them and create Paradise offspring?
More over, if there is a planet called Paradise... is there another planet called "Hell"? Could THAT be where the Xenomorphs comes from? Are they the "sperm" of "Hell", sent out to further what we call evil?
* I also wanna see Engineer women. Anybody who have studied Giger's work knows that there is plenty of concept art for how Engineer women would appear, how they would act, and that they would be very powerful.
By now I know what you're all thinking... "Wth is he smoking??"
Well, I'm sober and quite sane. I love the Alien/Prometheus franchise, as well as adore H.R. Giger's work. All I want is a profound story and experience. I can only hope that Ridley Scott and his writers do it justice.
Peace and love to all fans out there.
