Lawrence Of Arabia in Prometheus

     If you are interested in Prometheus and have not seen Lawrence Of Arabia, I highly recomend it. There are some amusing parallels between Peter O'Toole's performance as Lawrence and David 8. David had the film to study, to mimmic, after all, but unless you know what happens in Lawrence Of Arabia, you won't see how complete the connection is.

     David 8 saves Holloway's life, then takes it, later. Lawrence had to do the same thing, although in that movie, it was duty; in Prometheus, it's Weyland's ambition that drives things along. Not quite as noble, but I see where David gets his rationalizations.

    It's sort of the same way the film The Valley Of The Dolls sheds light on the film Fight Club.  Or Citizen Kane and Lair Of The White Worm....
