I think they could push it forwards if they want, i fail to see all Post Productions Special Effects and Sound Effects and Music would take to long...  And so i think they could push it in for a May/June release if they wanted to.

Prometheus from Shooting to being shown on the Big Screen was 15 Months.... and so if Alien Covenant was released 15 months after it started shooting it would be out in July 2017

Some movies can be turned around quick from shooting to being shown on the big screen...  I would say March 2017 would be possible.....  but no earlier.

However there must have been a reason to release the movie in October 2017 and then bring this forwards to August 2017 and i dont think its to do with the Production i.e it being quicker than expected.

So i think there is a reason for August thats not because it would take that long to finish post production... and so i doubt they would bring it forwards.

I have been waiting for this movie for quite a while but I would prefer if they would take their time before they release it. This is important since Prometheus was a disappointment so they better get it right this time. Hopefully their will be some other interesting movies that will be released before Alien Covenant.

Well they have finished shooting the movie a few Months back Thoughts_Dreams...

So the only things that they should be taking time with is Special Effects and Sound Effects/Music....

But one of the other concerns would be how happy are Ridley and Fox with all the Scenes they have shot, and what running time they want to have the Theatrical Release have.

Hopefully they have fully thought out where they want to be with the Plot A-Z and in relation to connection to previous movies and sequels.  So that any editing or cutting of Scenes does not effect what we get on screen.

Unlike Prometheus.

Yep! Very very exciting! Although I'm curious why they chose that date and not August. I guess the marketing will he fairly condensed now. Which is also exciting!

Good, it felt like a very long time from finishing the movie until the release date. I like that we will have to wait less until we can watch it.

The Source did say a May 2017 Release was planned.... maybe just coincidence... have check with my OT's
