Will the Engineer ships in Alien Covenant biomechanically connect to it's complex landscapes?

MemberNeomorphOct-16-2016 8:29 AMI certainly hope so! The Pebble Ship in PROMETHEUS was such a mysterious concept that it has to be explored more in COVENANT!

MemberDeaconOct-18-2016 9:56 AMIndeed thats a very interesting Question....
We have been shown that the Xenomorph is some kind of Parasitical Organism and Aliens Evolved this idea as it showed us the Organism can spread by created a network of Bio-Mechanical Hives, they had the aim of Procreation and a similar role to what we see from Ants, or Termites and to a lesser degree Bees/Wasps.... In order to sustain themselves they had to create a hive and they do this by somehow creating some Bio-Mechanical Construction Material but its more advanced than simply how Termites build their Hives by the use of sand/dirt and saliva or how Honey Bees construct their Hives by transforming Nectar to Honey and using it in the construction process.
The Xenomorph hives are very Bio-Mechanical they are constructed from what looks Genetically the same Material that these Organisms themselves are constructed from.
And indeed if we then compare the Derelict and its Architecture/Building Material it is very connected to the Xenomorph and the construction material of its Hives. It would be fantastic to explore why there seems such a connection.
HR Giger did seem to point to the Derelict and Egg Silo has being somewhat a living Machine, and so indeed having it be more like a Bio-Mechanical Fungus or Weed would make a interesting idea.... In which the Bio-Mechanical Construction Material is actually some kind of Bio-Organic Organism be it more like Plant Matter so say a Mould, Fungus or Weed and then indeed it would be interesting to see how this can then Grow across a Landscape like some out of control Mould or Fungus that grows on Trees, or Rock.. or even like a out of control Weed/Vine.
In Alien the Landscape had some HR Giger Bio-Mechanical Growths not far from the ship, and if this World (LV-426) is not related to the Space Jockey or his Cargo..... then perhaps after the Crash some of the Derelict had been thrown outside and started to evolve and spread across the Landscape.
But the we was given Prometheus.... where we are shown or tried to be shown the Engineers are the Space Jockeys and we see their Ships that are very related to the Derelict are way more Mechanical than Organic like the Derelict was..... But we are shown these Engineers conduct experiments and had created or was using a Bio-Logical Mutagen that leads to evolving Genetic Material to take on Traits of the Xenomorph.
What if this Black Goo could in some way at some point be able to Genetically Modify Synthetic or Non-Organic Material.... and so be able to mutate and evolve more than Biological Material.
A Crashed Engineer Ship with its Cargo Spilled all over the place that over thousands of years could then evolve and change the atomic structure of the Ship to take on Xenomorph Traits could explain why the Derelict was more Organic than the Juggernaughts.
The Black Goo was hinted at causing a Outbreak where it acted like a Parasitic Virus and so imagine if this Mutagenic Substance could infect more than Organic Material/Building Blocks.

AdminEngineerOct-18-2016 10:03 AMI would certainly hope so. The Pebble ship is something I hope is addressed as well.
However the set photos we've seen so far don't seem to insinuate that Paradise will be overly bio-mechanical. However, they could be CGI-ing that in.

MemberDeaconOct-19-2016 9:16 AMIndeed thats a good point Chris....
But we have to remember that even in Prometheus we see nothing Bio-Mechanical (HR Giger) from the outside, it appears that inside is where we get to see the More Technical HR Giger inspired look.
We dont know what will be shown in Alien Covenant, so far its a lot of Ancient Looking Architecture as if it was from a set of Exodus Gods and Kings...
But i have a feeling that Ridley would not be giving a lot away and yet those set photos seem to do so, and so maybe we would see some evidence of Technology?
Even if its regarding the Pebble Ships or similar as who knows maybe the Bio-Mechanical Technology is something created away from Paradise by a Faction of Engineers who where kicked out of Paradise?
Ridley said we would find out why the Xenomorph looked Bio-Mechanical and the Creatures in Prometheus where far less Synthetic Looking like the Xenomorph was... and yet the Derelict was more Organic looking than the Juggernaughts.
Maybe Ridleys comment is not to be taken as something Synthetic from this movie must become part of the Cycle to create the Xenomorph... i.e David or another Synthetic...
Ridley could mean other means of Bio-Mechanics.... as we never got the impression the Ancient Engineers from the Full Sacrificial Scene... who had seeded life on Earth, and their Pebble Ship... they never had any of that Bio-Mechanical Look/Technology that we saw on LV-223..... and so far Paradise does not seem to have it either...
come to think of it if the Engineers visited us over thousands of years and evolved us Genetically and Technologically as Ridley said they had.... we have no signs of Bio-Mechanical Upgrades to our appearance or our Technology and Construction from the times those Star Maps where made.
This could show us that those who were on Paradise, had visited Earth and did not posses the Bio-Mechanical Technologies that the LV-223 Engineers had and the Space Jockey/Derelict.
We have to wander if this is the case, then HOW, WHEN and WHY did the LV-223 Engineers obtain this Bio-Mechanical Technology.
I think the Sources Comments and Paradise Lost Poem link could be a clue..

MemberNeomorphOct-27-2016 9:42 AMChris: I am not sure if it a bad thing that it won't be bio-mechanical. They have done that before so it would be nice to do something new. One of the good things about Prometheus was the landscape so they could continue with that aspect in Alien Covenant.
