Seen this before quite some time ago, and we maybe can assume its not a case of blowing up the Set after its been used, as this is a National Park and i doubt blowing things up for the sake of dismantling would be out of the question.
And so it would have to mean a Lander/Drop Ship of the Covenant perhaps, suffers some kind of destruction but we have to wander how...
Looking at the Synopsis and what we can make out from the Plot and how indeed the Covenant crew come into contact with something related to the Xenomorph it could be some kind of sabotage.
If David or a Company Insider wanted to strand a few of the Crew on that World, they would need to take out any means of escape.
