Login Help - Use your E-Mail to log in to these forums now!

Hey everyone,

I've been getting a lot of emails from members saying their passwords don't work. This is likely because of an update I made to the forums - which changed how members log in. I announced the update and detailed it in this thread here on the Help forum, but I realize not everyone may have seen it.

So to re-cap, to log in from Scified or Alien-Covenant.com (logging into either will log you into both places simultaneously) you must enter your E-Mail in place of where your Username would have been entered, plus your password.

I am slowly phasing out the username requirement and sticking to strictly the Display Name, E-Mail and Password as a means of profile authentication (as well as a few other background values like IP and verification check). Eventually I will be also launching the ability for members to select their own profile URL, so something like Scified.com/user/chris would be mine. But that's not live yet. The move away from usernames however is the first step in this upgrade.

If you try logging in with your email and password and still experience issues, please email me at info@scified.com and I will get back to you ASAP and sort out whatever kinks are preventing you from logging in.
