Is there a Vickers/Muther connection?

It's "ma'am", but often pronounced 'mum'.

I know that scene but never understood the tea or mum reference.

It was David's way of dismissing her.

Or offering a typical robot service 

its def ma'am. its his way of changing the subject possibly in a sarcastic way as the ma'am reference suggests hes saying,'yes boss, anything else I can do for u?' yet hes telling her she may have a level of authority over him for now but shes to remember weyland is onboard and david ultimately reports to him and not her

This is something on Prometheus's dvd main menu.If you let it play long enough it shows a picture of Vickers and says MUTHER 321.

It also says something like 'routing reference code' above it.  Shaw has MUTHUR 402.  Just guessing but I think it's like a futuristic URL.

I haven't noticed that.I'll check it out.

If i had to guess than i'd might say MUTHER isn't exclusive to the Nostromo
