I think it is a very very good and valid Questions...

Everyone has been trying to guess what happens in AC, some who dont because well they all ready know due to the 4Chan Leak LOL

One thing that we need to wander and the one thing that would answer the movie itself... would be to ask what happens at the end and Next.

You can beat your horses that ...

*Ridley Scott has not set up a likeness to Daniels to Ripley and made her the main protagonist to then kill her off, or make the next movie that does not follow her path on..

*Likewise Ridley is a big Fan of Fassbender and his performances and this movie he is playing TWO roles in the Guess who is the protagonist/antagonist role at play here, and it may not be as simple as Switch-a-Roo... it could be a twist... but i would think they would be following on with David and not Walter for the sequel.

*They would not have it that the Covenant is a large ish ship with 200 Colonists, when the movie may see us loose 12-15 of them.  There has to be a reason for having more on board for a sequel.

*The Xenomorph has to play a role more in the next movie, or something related which means yes ... One at least has to get on board and remain on board after the movie Covenant ends.. or the 2nd movie would take them to some place where they would encounter Xeno related Shenanigans.

How and which route they will take is anyones guess yet..

I would assume... and not Spoiler... that if not in this movie but the next Daniels finds out David is on-board, he has either switched places... or in the end Walter proves to be the antagonist while David Redeems himself... 

This would allow the next movie for David to speak more about the Engineers, LV-223 etc....  they could have it then that the company is off to LV-223 and Daniels with David maybe decides they have to go and try and Stop them...

The Question is would she risk those Colonists?  or would it be a Sacrifice needed to prevent the company getting its hands on the Engineers Technology and Horrors that follow.

Who knows... i think it would be a interesting Ending in store.

I feel a Simple.. David Swaps with Walter, and plants a Egg or something on the Covenant is a bit.... been done before... Alien 3 Prologue.....   Then again maybe they get rid of the Alien in this movie via the same method as Alien and Aliens so maybe they would stick with the similar root and nothing new..

I've thought both Walter and David might come out of this one,although if i had to choose then i'd say this might be the last we see of David and see Walter take a larger more heroic role in the follow up like Bishop in William Gibson's Alien 3.

But i think they could be making this movie more about David and his journey than anything else.

I think it because of the possibility of the Davidmorph if there's any truth to that being real and not rumor,then i think David might sacrifice himself to birth some new abomination.

Bring back egg morphing concept on those embryos...but make the protoxeno ,egg morphing themselfs, to originate ultramorphs. Or smth like this.

I am expecting sequel of ac to be lv 223 for sure and that would give a nice opening indeed op.
