How do you think the two Davids will interact in the new Movie?

You mean David and Walter, don't you?

This is something i am looking forwards too...

As for the other David... maybe he is another David... yes we have Walter but we dont know if Walter is just another David but a David 9?

I mean how many David 8's are there?  If you purchased a David 8 to be your Butler, or work on your Farm... or hell if you was a lonely Female Widow in need of companion... would you call them David?  or give then your own name?

I suspect that Walter is just a given name for a newer David model.

I can discuss the connections more, but may start get bit spoilery... but i think its about Davids journey..

I bet that the first David in 2025 is in this movie, and when Weyland upgrades the models... so David 2 Proto-type.. the Memories and Experiences of David 1 get transferred, then when we get David 3 Prototype... hen David 2 Proto-types memories get transferred to David 3 and so on.

Each Proto-type is Weylands Personnel Model and allowed more free-dome, has passed on memories over 69 years and this is what gives David his soul.

And why Weylands Personnel David is his Son. (well closest he has to one).

I think we will get a twist but its not quite the twist people think...

I've expected Walter to be more Stoic like Bishop,but since his model is likely a precursor to Ash he might be a bit "twitchy."As for hostility i'm not so certain.Perhaps more like curiosity.

David has a lot of passed on memories, he has more freedom than the other Davids... if he was a Angel he would be Lucifer.  We will see a very Lucifer vibe here... but that does not mean Evil.. was Lucifer Evil? thats a big question.

David is more close to Human than we think, his emotions are very strong and while we think he is a robot... he can get offended and feel rejected...  he has grown a despise to Mankind, he has found out there is nothing special about his creators and they was created themselves by another Mortal Race who are nothing special either.

As the Nature Boy song hints... Maybe this Boy is on a Journey... and if he feels wanted, and loved and important rather than rejected and not respected... then there is chance for him to show compassion... and redeem his actions.  As Fassbender said... maybe he has a Soul?

Walter is a straight up company robot, he has no free will as such and follows orders and programing.... however if he has a hidden Programing Objective think ASH from Alien then Walter could show himself to be the Bad Guy

David feels wanted at the end and redeems himself.. the next movie Waterston finds out its David but David becomes more honest and its via Davids dialog with Daniels.. that the next movie can give more clues.. as David spills the beans.

Walter will be killed near the end making the classic twist..." its walter....oh damm...its david! "As he makes a familiar gesture or saying of lawerence of arabia . credits scene " post credits teardrop engineer ship appearing . Ppl throws popcorn and run home debunking next sequel theorys on scified.

This is a subject that teeth can be sunk into, regardless of spoilers because fassbender is so good. He doesn't waste a single gesture in his acting, and so I'm expecting to see a lot of subtle info relayed to the audience even if there is no dialog in every scene with him. I've also noticed in his interviews that he has a great relation with Ridley, and so I know he gives Ridley a dynamic range which can then be further refined by the director.

In regard to David and Walter, no android should be trusted in the alien universe. And certainly not during the early model years of 2091 (Prometheus) thru 2122 (ash in alien). Not until Bishop do we find out that the new behavioral inhibitors finally have the bugs worked out (Aliens 2179). Ridley knows that none of us trusts the androids by now, so he'll use that. I'm gathering from the leaks, that a subtle chess game will be played between the two. I'm expecting their interplay to be rich in pathos and depth. A Sibling rivalry, as it were. From a story-telling perspective we will all be rooting for Walter by the end, and that's where the audience may have the rug pulled from under us. The audience will have been played by the android just like the Covenant crew.

Whether you like or hate M. Night shyamalan and his endings, that gimmick of the twist-ending was an entertaining element to his films. Some succeeded and others fell flat. Will Ridley Scott use this device as well in Covenant?

Like ninXeno426, I am expecting more of a Bishop type. I am also wondering if there might be a bit of dynamic like Data and Lore from Star Trek TNG.
