MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 6:26 AMYeah I see an IMDB score of 8.0 or more, I want it to have a 90 something percent on Rotten Tomatoes but I'm thinking 85%.

Neomorph
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 6:57 AMMore of a metacritic guy myself so I predict a critic average score of around 80 and a user average of 8-9 (mostly fanboys like myself lol)
Same goes for RT and IMDB if applicable.
Of course it's hard to predict but it's fun to wildly guess sometimes :D

dk
MemberTrilobiteFeb-09-2017 8:31 AMFor RT, it seems a few give zeros or ones with no real elaboration thus skewing a more honest average imo.

Dark Nebula
StaffNeomorphFeb-09-2017 8:38 AMMy guess is:
Between 7.0 and 8.0 on IMDb
+70% on RT.

MemberFacehuggerFeb-09-2017 9:58 AMScience Fiction Flicks never get the justice they deserve....RT tends to be unnecessarily harsh (Unless they are some sappy drama...)
I'd say the Rotten Tomatoes gets ugly with a 69% an IMDb stands in awe of the Ridley lineage and gives us an 8.0
MTF...

Starlogger
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 11:49 AM@suwhited I agree with you. LOTS of "critics" seem to be both SciFi and Horror haters, so neither of those genres gets the respect they deserve, so take off about 10-20% of the score one of those films truly deserves, and you'll get the rough RT score or MetaCritic score.

Neomorph
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 12:11 PMExactly Starlogger, because it is more "politically correct" for critics to praise a drama where:
- one or more characters are crying, preferably in the rain with a conveniently placed spotlight in front of the characters.
- a character is either ill or suffers mental disorders or physical disabilities (a combination is a perfect bait for the critics and jury for award nominations)
- racism and homosexuality is not only a theme, but a message forced down our throats like a facehugger planting a seed.
- Very boring upper-class jokes

MemberDeaconFeb-09-2017 1:04 PMIts hard to say really... and it depends if those who post a score are.
1) Alien Fans in General
2) Alien Fans who did not like Prometheus
3) Prometheus fans
4) General Sci-Fi Fans
5) Casual viewers.
I am going to guess and we have to wait about until just before DVD Release but i think the score could be about 7/10 IMDB and 74% Rotten Toms...

MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 1:41 PMThis is off topic and didn't know exactly where to post this, just thought of this like a minute ago. We are definitely seeing a trailer for The Predator with Alien: Covenant right? Or will it be too early in production to get a trailer ready?

You forgot to mention that they truly cherish a love story that transcends age, beauty, and even regular bowel movements... (you know, Beauty & the Beast, Jay-Z & Beyonce, Gary Busey & that domesticated Sasquatch...yeah, that sorta thing...).
We may be hosed on this one...

BigDave
MemberDeaconFeb-09-2017 2:02 PM@Dr. Curt Connors
I dont think we would see a Trailer for The Predator as the movie does not shoot until a few weeks time.
I would assume we would not get a The Predator Trailer until around December 2017

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 2:12 PM@ BigDave Yeah I figured since it hasn't started shooting yet that would be the case. Maybe they would just a throw a teaser out there just to hype it up for the fans.

ninXeno426
MemberPraetorianFeb-09-2017 2:18 PM98 or 97 on rt.That's what Alien and Aliens have. That might be a bit unrealistic though.6 range imdb, this movie probably won't register to well with the public.
Nothing the God of biomechanics wouldn't let you in heaven for

Neomorph
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 2:22 PMLol I know, I was just naming a few examples.
The film Interstellar is a prime example of a PC Academy Award jury baiter imo, the film almost sh*ts itself with all the silly clichés (sorry Nolan I see what you did there)
- A father has to leave his cute perfect little TV commercial kids- check
- A boy is sick from the dust- check
- Almost every damn character start to cry- check (this literally happens lol)
- Honorable sacrifice to the tone of *sacrifice theme*- check
I'm sure I missed a lot more. It does fail on present time pc racial diversity though as there's only a black character, no Asian, Indians or Latinos. #andstillsarcastic
Sorry to get OT

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 2:36 PMChristopher Nolan is a genius! If you don't cry watching Interstellar then you don't have a heart or a soul! I cry watching tons of movies and I am proud of that, that's what makes a movie great if you are emotional and it makes you emotional and care about what's going on! If you don't care about the characters and what's going on in the movie then what's the point.

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 2:39 PMNot actually saying you don't have a heart or soul, it's just a phrase. And everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And I had to stick up for my favorite director of all time, Christopher Nolan doesn't make movies so they get nominated for Academy Awards, if that were the case Dunkirk would be coming out in November or December instead of July.

Neomorph
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 2:52 PMHahaha sorry I think you misinterpreted my sarcastic post XD maybe I should've been more clear. I did not meant to insult Nolan (his protective fans generally tend to get super aggressive on forums)
I like Nolan for sure, he's a fine director, I just felt that Interstellar was set up mainly to win several Academy Awards using well-proven tactics. An attempt to become the next Stanley Kubrick.
He basically kickstarted Batman and brought the caped crusader back to the major spotlight again, and I'm grateful for that. Also, Memento was fantastic imo.

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 2:56 PM@Neomorph I got ya, it's all good and well. I like debating about these things. Nothing was directed at you personally just a fun debate.

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 2:58 PMAnd I'm definitely not like those fans you are referring to, they tend to get a bit crazy, haha. Yeah The Dark Knight Trilogy are my favorite films of all time!

MemberOvomorphFeb-09-2017 4:36 PM@Neomorph
Looks like both of us are being pleasantly optimistic about this movie haha. I have a feeling its gonna pull a Rogue One/Force Awakens, some of the old fan base won't like it but casual moviegoers and alien fans will (and plenty of the fan base, just maybe not the old school guys". Do you think it'll get better reception than Prometheus?

cuponator3000
MemberChestbursterFeb-09-2017 7:38 PMI would say about 70-75% on RT and probably a 7 on IMDB
Not a map, an invitation

Neomorph
MemberChestbursterFeb-10-2017 11:15 AMsalomonj that's not a bad comparison at all because those SW films are more or less made to:
a) please fans (and they are great fan service films no doubt)
b) make up for the disappointment many fans felt with ep. I-III (just like AC is a possible "fan compensation" for fans who disliked Prometheus)
c) keep the franchise (and all the merchandise) alive
As for the reception, I think it will be higher with better reviews than Prometheus, with my speculation solely being based on the new writers providing a better script, despite that we don't anything yet. It's just a guess.

Donald J. Trump
MemberOvomorphFeb-12-2017 2:24 PMhoping most of the guesses here are on target. the trailer makes the movie look pretty awesome. i'm thinking at least gets a 7 on imdb

Stan Winston (deceased)
MemberFacehuggerFeb-12-2017 4:24 PMRotten Tomatoes: 35%
IMDB: 4.
Look, the trailer was so underwhelming, some of our ilk decided to recut it. Does not bode well. I'm planning for the worst so I can be pleasantly surprised by the best.

Thoughts_Dreams
MemberNeomorphFeb-15-2017 8:51 AMThat is very difficult to predict. It probably depends on how many that post reviews, what they are into, if they mostly care about Alien or Prometheus and so on.
A lot of times critics give boring movies high scores and interesting movies bad scores. I know this because I have read reviews of movies that when described seem like shit but the writer seems to find some deep stuff in it when the movie seems to lack pace or might have a boring topic (I usually get bored by slow movies/movies that lack action no matter how interesting the topic is).
Suwhited: Boring love stories tend to get high ranking with critics but these kind of movies suck IMO.
Dr Curt Connors: I haven’t watched Nolan movie after that shit that was The Dark Knight Rises (reactionary crap) Fuck TDKR
I try to keep my expectations low after what became of Prometheus.

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterFeb-15-2017 9:19 AMThe Dark Knight Rises is amazing, my favorite movie of all time! It's okay that you don't like it, I don't care what your opinion of it is. You must not know much about Batman if you don't like it but it's cool everyone is entitled to their opinion.

MemberFacehuggerFeb-15-2017 9:53 AM@Stan Winston
"Rotten Tomatoes: 35%
IMDB: 4."
..And I thought I was rough...Even movies like "Split" get better than that..
