Alien Covenant : Overture

Well done. Some of it, especially after 3:00 doesn't sound very dark scifi to me.

Thanks ! Yes it seems the music is not dark enough even if I thought of it as an introduction (like the "Life" theme in Prometheus). After 2:40 I used the main theme of Jerry Goldsmith as an inspiration : Alien Theme which is also brighter than expected. But you are right, I seen other people telling me that the music isn't dark enough for an Alien movie :)

I imagine a movie as this score plays and these time sequences remind me of what kind of scene they might play to.

0:00- 1:00 sounds like good intro music

1:00- 1:40 could work for building suspense

1:40-2:35 ish- sounds like maybe action scenes?

2:40-2:56- build up to a climax?

2:57- 3:40- a climax or revelation?

3:40- end- the end where maybe we see something that shows there is more to the ending than we or the characters think.

Is any of that on the mark or in the ball park?

Strangely enough, if I had to describe it, I'd say that it definitely sounds like a sequel to Prometheus, but doesn't quite feel like Alien: Covenant.

It's almost as if it belonged to another Prometheus 2 in an alternate universe lol:) 

Keep up the fantastic work, I would love to see you make several more of these Alien: Covenant soundtracks! And when you do, please post here so I can listen!

Thanks a lot for the kind words :) I see what you mean about the Prometheus 2 alternate universe ! It totally make sense as Alien: Covenant seems really dark and full of blood (Which I am totally happy with by the way). My music is more about discovery. And yes Dk it could be a good reading :) I just wanted to link the prometheus universe with the Alien's one, so it start with the use of the"Life" theme and end with the Alien's one (1979). I also add the engineers motif just after the intro part to introduce a darker mood. After that I used the motion tracker sound (Aliens) as part of the rythm. But maybe it is quite hard to hear it in the mix. Btw sorry if my english is not perfect, I'm doing my best. And if someone is interested by having the WAV file of this (CD quality), just send me a PM. I will be happy to send it to you :)
